Take your chances that you get the whole toy and save your boxes until you know, because right now, I'm only 1 for 2.
As a parent, I think this had been a great toy. Seems to be a big hit at family functions and events. Only problem is that it is a bit addicting once you try it!
My daughter and her friend both love this ball! She even packed it in her carry on luggage for our recent trip to Florida - not a bad airplane game (albeit a bit loud with the ball clanging around but on a plane full of kids, noise was not a big factor).
However, the surprising aspect of this toy is that every adult that picks it up wants to play it/own it/win it. It is really easy to become obsessive about the ball.
It is really fun (though aggravating). It is also educational as it teaches good problem solving and logic skills which you need to maneuver through the game. It also works on your fine motor skills as, for example, a gentle tilt will move the ball to the next location but an overly aggressive tilt will put you back at square one. Ok maybe the motor skills is a bit of a reach!
My one complaint is that the path is marked with numbers. However, only a few of these numbers are printed in visible colors. The vast majority of the numbers are raised numbers in the same color as the maze track so you have to tilt and hold under the light and put your glasses on and peer closely to try and confirm where you are going next. Very odd since it would be simple enough to make all the numbers clearly visible. This creates an unnecessary and un-fun challenge. Otherwise the ball is a big hit.
One word of warning. Younger kids are tempted to roll the ball on the floor not realizing that this is a great way to scratch the clear plastic surface. If the surface gets to scratched, you can no longer play the game because you can't see the ball and tracks.
This "toy" is a triumph of simplicity and ingenuity. It requires superior vision, a complaint - following the escalating number path is difficult, hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. I picked it up for the first time last night and so far have only got to 30 out of 100 markers.
The ball occasionally jumps a wall
Company logo is sometimes a visual block
The structure itself is a visual block
Sure to disappear hours of your time.

Gave these as gifts to a 5 & 7 year old and they loved them. Not only did they love them but the adults enjoyed them too! These would be great to take with you in the car too!!Published on January 5, 2013 by Lundy Lane
I was expecting a better quality toy. The plastics and hardware used in the toy is cheaply made and my grandchildren looked at it, played for less than 5 minutes and put it away.Published on December 20, 2012 by Ardie V. Thorsen

Perplexus is fun, if somewhat frustrating! Plan to spend a lot of time playing this game. I've given two as gifts after playing at a friend's house for an hour. Read morePublished on May 15, 2012 by ewhull
