The characters (dog and human) villain and hero are well developed and the story is richly told. It could and probably should be edited down a little here and there but oh well it is easy enough to speed through those parts.
I purchased and read this novel recently when I discovered it because I loved the author’s previous novel, “Watership Down” so much years and years ago. In my opinion, “Watership” was much better but even so I do recommend this novel as well.
Plague dogs highlights scientific animal testing from the point of view of animals.
It also brings up important lessons on loyalty, determination and love. This book is a must for young readers.
