Editorial Reviews
From the Author
I destroyed Europe. I confess. And sorry about that. Also, in Season 3, I wasn't nice to Wilmington, Vermont. Less sorry.
The rewrite took many more months and the project has really evolved as Jaimie's character has grown. My aim was always, is always, to write something entertaining but different. There's a bit of gore, a bit of the supernatural and some speculation about the meaning of our world now that it's on the way out. When you get to the end, you'll be surprised to find the answers aren't in gunfire. I hope you'll enjoy This Plague of Days, either way.

He was particularly prescient when writing that the books virus came from wet markets in China and manifest itself with flu-like symptoms that were particularly deadly. When he mentioned "social distance" it was like a slap in the face.
Yesterday, the line going into the local Trader Joe's went around the block because people had to queue up, using social distance, and were only allowed in a few people at a time only after a few people left. Store employees wearing disposable gloves were spraying everyone's hands with hand sanitizer before letting them in the store.
I know I'm going to be reading this book, and the series, as a peek into the possible future. It feels very real to me at this time. I know it has zombies in it somewhere, I haven't found the zombies yet, but I'm prepared… For the zombies in the book anyway.
One might ask why am I reading this book at this time. It's like when I watched the "Exorcist" before going in for a job interview. My reality might have been scary had I not been prepared by scaring myself worse than a job interview. The series I know will be scarier than what I'm prepared to live through, should I survive this pandemic. Stay safe everyone.
So believe me when I tell you that Robert Chazz Chute is a writing force to be reckoned with. I'm halfway through This Plague of Days Season One and I couldn't wait to write a review to get other readers on board.
Many horror writers depend solely on action to drive their stories. Chute's characters drive the action. Rarely have I seen an author craft characters so well...in any genre.
Then there's Chute's prose. It is insightful, powerful, and gorgeous without being poetic or flowery. Many quotes could easily stand alone to comment on the human condition.
I am so delighted to have discovered Chute and can't wait to read everything that he's written.
Do yourself a favor and buy the trilogy right off the bat and save a few bucks. I got hooked on book one, read book two in a few days, and was excited to get book 3. And it does not disappoint.
Gotta run, need to look into buying some survival gear and dried food.

Relatively fast paced action that will leave you wanting more and luckily, there's 2 more to follow.
