Saw this with my wife on Shark Tank months ago and we both commented on how beautiful the mug looked. I was so happy to find that it was for sale on Amazon.
Mug came undamaged and seems to be very strong. I have no fear of the handle breaking during regular use.
The built in coaster really works.
I love being able to hold the larger handle, which loops out and under. I've had larger than normal handles on mugs before, they tend to feel out of balance with the mugs. This one doesn't.
If the pic makes you hesitant about the sturdiness, don't think twice. This is well build and remarkably balance with any amount of liquid in it.
I'll likely buy more in the future.
-Looks sleek. Like that its white, matches with everything, would look great if you have a set.
-The bottom "coaster" part does function well as a coaster in terms of not leaving a "ring". When holding cold drinks it will prevent a ring of condensation on your coffee table. When holding hot drinks it will prevent heat from damaging your table as well.
-Sturdy. The box for the mug shows that the mug can support the weight of a watermelon. It does feel very sturdy at the handle and bottom connection part. No matter what drink, with or without ice cubes, I think this mug will be fine.
-Size. For me, this mug was not as functional because its too small. I would have like to see this offered in a 10oz or 12oz mug. Because you would never fill it up to the rim anyways, so out of this mug you're really getting maybe 6oz of drinking liquid, which is too small for me.
-No padding on the bottom "coaster" part. With a usual coaster, the bottom is usually padded with felt or something to prevent from scratching your table top, but the bottom of this mug on the coaster part is just regular ceramic just like a mug bottom, so I had to put something under it to prevent it from scratching my glass table top. So I had to use a coaster for the coaster part. = FAIL.
-"Catching the drip" function is not practical. So at first I thought this part would be a good idea. The shape of the mug is wider on top and tapered towards the bottom. I'm assuming this is to allow any "dripping" to automatically "catch" at the bottom coaster part. But when I went to drink again, it occurred to me that this part is not functional in reality because when you tip the mug to drink again, the accumulated "drips" on the coaster part just spills on your shirt! Unlike a separate mug and coaster where the coaster catches the liquid and your mug when lifted again is not affected, with this mug when you lift it again, the drips come with it, and since the "coaster" part has no "rim" to enclose the drippings, it will spill when you drink again. = USELESS.
So with this considered, its fun and innovative, but for me, just a regular mug and coaster will function better.
