The book is ok as a list of recommended ingredient combos but after that you’re on your own. Every recipe requires modifications on measurement or combination to achieve proper results. For example there is a recipe for butternut squash pancakes. If you follow the recipe you’ll get the consistency of cookie dough. I added my entire carton of coconut milk and still no thinning. When I tried to make them as pancakes on the griddle it was a crumbly mess that ended up in the trash. So being creative I scooped them onto a cookie sheet and attempted to bake them. It was a mystery to see if they would flatten like cookies or retain their scooped shape like a scone. They ended up like a scone so it baffles me that the author actually thinks you can ladle this batter onto a griddle. Long story short if you are not good in the kitchen at recovery and improvisation this book is NOT for you. The book is more like a book of suggestions for things to build recipes on that you have to complete on your own. Another example is the sweet and sour chicken. It calls for about ten times as much siracha as it needs for the spicy apricot sauce and almost as much excess chicken broth I followed the recipe (halving the siracha which makes the heat all that more shocking) and ended up with a soupy slop that set my family’s mouths on fire. So I’ll make it again but double the chicken triple the veggies cut the chicken broth to one quarter of the recommended amount and use a fraction of siracha in the apricot sauce rather than the 2 Tbsp the recipe recommends. Basically every recipe is like this. I give the book 2 stars because it does give a base to come up with new things to cook but it’s definitely not for someone who is not a very confident creative cook.

I have been a planner off and on for a few years now. I have learned a lot but im heavier than i have ever been. I have come to the conclusion this is for a specific demographic of women that i do not belong to: middle aged and already very thin but wants to lose the ten pounds they have gained since their teens. I am 70 pounds heavier than my teens and have never been naturally thin. Im also not middle aged... yet!
I have learned a few cool tips tho. But overall this plan does not work for me. It is too much cooking weird foods i have never heard of and cooking from scratch. None of it is easy. And the plan does not allow for eating out. This plan has you eating home cooked meals 24/7 which isn’t feasible for me. It also does NOT work if you have littles. When you are middle aged, your kids are all grown and gone already. I own all her books and follow her on social media and i have noticed MOST all her clients are the same-older and already very trim. This plan is for women that have tried every diet in the world and just can’t manage to lose the last 5-10 lbs they have put on since youth. Its not for morbidly obese people with decades of bad habits and poor balance. Just my two cents!
