Versatility is the Blinky 3H’s middle name. You can mount it to your helmet with the included self-leveling helmet mount or attach it to your seat post or seat stay. No matter where you choose to mount it, its brilliant illumination will keep you visible on your evening bicycle adventures.

While this isn't the brightest light out there, the fact that it is self-leveling makes it always in the right position and more visible than any other light. Unless you hard mount a light to your bike and make sure it's level, you're never gonna get the best projection of light. Besides, the higher up the light is, the easier it can be seen. No one who rides at night should be without this thing mounted to their helmet!
Down side - after four years of it bouncing around my helmet, the bracket kinda wore out (I attached it to a curved part, so there was stress on the bracket). Planet Bike sells a replacement kit for $5 - great customer insight on their part.
I had to use two zip ties to mount it to my Giro Indicator helmet. Once that was done, it has been very sturdy. But obviously, this is not a setup if you want to remove Blinky very often. The light may be unsnapped from the mount with some effort, but it is not intended for this use, I think.
I combine my Blinky with about six other lights, so I can't say for sure which light gets the most attention (probably the four Nite Ize Spoke lights!).
I know people who have had good success mounting the Blinky 3H on the rear of their helmets but it did not prove very secure on the back of my Giro Atmos helmet and it kept banging on the helmet whenever the mounting strap slipped just a little bit. It might have worked on top of the helmet but I didn't want to put it there. I suspect that it would work on the back of the Giro Synthe (but might mess up airflow) or Giro Atmos (but I don't need a rear light on a trail)
I still use the Blinky with it's mounting bracket. The mount works OK suspending the light from the bottom of my behind-the-saddle bottle cages. I figure one more light can't hurt but I wish it were brighter.
This light, however, is not quite useful for when you are looking left or right. Get another blinking light for your bike to ensure there's one constantly shining towards the cars behind you. I recommend the Planet Bike Blinky Superflash Tail Light for that purpose.
This one is one of the good ones. Both my wife and I have them on slightly different types of helmets. They swivel as they should, and as I always ride behind her I can see that they always are oriented the correct way.
Works perfect with Rayovac rechargeable. This is a light that works perfectly not a place to discuss ones poor choice in batteries. If you can put in two batteries correctly you shouldn't have any problem.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS LIGHT. ONE RECHARGEABLE BATTERY LAST A COUPLE OF MONTHS ON THE FLASHING MODE WHICH IS THE BEST FOR HIGH VISIBILITY.

it has only 3 modes so it is easy to turn off.
. not as bright as my backup light, but it's another backup.
