About the Author
My name is Mariana Llanos and I have written stories since I was very young. I first started writing poems and then moved on to short stories. I still like writing poems, usually about silly, ordinary things. When I was at school I liked to adapt classic plays like Hamlet or Faust and make them into comedy skits. Then, my friends and I had a great time performing them at school functions. I love Art in all its forms. I not only write for children. I write for whoever wants to hear a story with a heart. Now that I have a family, I write stories that I know my children will read. I put a lil’ bit of them in my characters and a lil’ bit about myself but mostly, my characters come from deep inside my imagination. I sometimes think that I have little people living inside my head and, from time to time, one takes over and commands me to tell his or her story. My hope is that children (and grown-ups) will be inspired and entertained by my writing. If I put a smile on your face today, then my job is done.

With her exceptional ability to capture a child’s imagination in her writing, Mariana Llanos has created this delightful story about mistakes and forgiveness, family love, and being with the people who are important to you. It is a superb book, and I recommend it to all who have young school-aged children to read it to their children or let them read it themselves.

This book was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.
This book is great for emergent, or reluctant readers with its picture book type format, and vibrant illustrations. This is just one great book with a very imaginative story that is wildly entertaining and filled with awesome, colorful, vibrant pictures. This is a independent author that people shouldn't hesitate to give a chance. I know I can't wait to read the first Tristan Wolf book now.
Additionally, not only is the narrative excellent, but the illustrations are a very effective enhancement. The bright colors and swirling motions depicted on the planet Orb are captivating and fluid. The author and artist are well-paired. I would like to see the Tristan Wolf stories go on to....infinity!
The book is billed as a reading level of eight to twelve years old, but I'm thinking I'll buy a copy for my young niece and nephew. It would be perfect as a bedtime story, read by mom and dad. Engaging, colorful, fun.
The author once again takes us on a fun, exciting ride through the eyes of a young boy named Tristan. It is filled with more of the beautiful and colorful illustrations like the first book and many excellent lessons about family, love and appreciation. And most importantly, how wonderful and creative the imagination of a child is!
Please keep them coming!
Another great little story with accompanying colour drawings.
