American Stage Saves You From The Norm
Where most cables fall apart is where the American Stage cable is designed to stand strong. Featuring HelioFused soldering the American Stage cables provide bulletproof construction that can withstand the rigors of the stage, gig after gig. This soldering technique offers powerful strain relief without sacrificing any tone.
Welcome To The Other 1%
To go along with the unparalleled strength of it's solders the American Stage cable is made up of a 95% tinned copper braid and a conductive PVC under jacket for superior electromagnetic interference rejection. This makes for a flexible and sturdy cable that delivers the purest possible signal transfer.
The American Stage also features the patented Geo-tip, which is an exclusive design for improved fit in all jacks. Made in conjunction with Neutrik this Geo-tip ensures a secure connection in any instrument, pedal, or jack and avoids the typical crackling and poor signals ordinary jacks experience.
American Stage cables are built to ensure that your tone comes through exactly the way you want it. The 10-foot length is ideal for shorter runs, such as guitar-to-pedal board, and smaller stages and features one right angled end. Planet Waves American Stage Series cables are designed with audiophile quality wire, made in the USA, designed to reproduce the natural tones of your instrument with zero interference. The low 28pF/ft. capacitance is the sweet-spot for uncolored tone and the 22AWG oxygen-free copper conductor provides exceptional signal transfer. American Stage cables reject interference and avoid handling noise with 100% shielded coverage and 95% tinned copper braiding. Traditionally, mechanical tolerances of 1/4-inch jacks can vary greatly causing unreliable connections. Always seeking to innovate, Planet Waves designed the patented GEO-TIP plug and partnered with Neutrik for production in their state-of-the-art facility in Lichtenstein. The unique shape of the GEO-TIP design ensures a secure connection in any instrument, pedal, or amp jack. Using only the finest materials, custom designs and precision USA manufacturing methods, American Stage delivers a professional performance cable. The result is pure, natural tone guaranteed for life. Planet Waves cables are the ultimate musician's cable. Utilizing exclusive In=Out Technology for pure signal reproduction, Planet Waves cables are built tough to withstand gigs and come with a limited lifetime guarantee. Planet Waves is a part of the D'Addario and Co. family of brands, the global leader in musical accessories.
Top customer reviews
As for price compared to other brands, I had tried mogami gold & platinum, as well as live wire elite before hand. I like the live wire, but didn't like the rigidness of the cable. The mogami flat out didn't impress me. The planet waves seems to sound just as good if not better than both cables with the live wire coming in on it's heels. However, I don't really support super expensive cables, as I feel like your not getting what you pay for.
All in all the american stage is a great, transparent sounding cable that won't be mistaken for sounding weak and muddy. The bass comes across beautifully clean, not quite as stout as the live wire elite, but more transparent. The high end and mid-range is noticeably more clear, and better clean in my opinion. Price played a big part in what I was comfortable spending on cables, and I think this met the criteria I was looking for.
I would rate these Planet Wave cables higher than the Fender cables. These are easier to work with and coil up. I have found that this cable is more durable than the Fender cable. Especially where the cable meets the connector.
Also, these cables have great sound quality. I very rarely get any noise, and when I do, it goes away with a simple tapping of the jack.
