I have had these for about a year. Ain't nobody got time to be cleaning off rust stains. I just hated how many plastic baggies were going into the landfill and thought these would hold up.
Much heavier than expected with a full water bottle and lunch. The metal is heavy. I got this for my Pre K kid.
The company is not easy to deal with.
The magnets bump off the lids easily. Need a much stronger magnet or more magnetic lid. I own 6 sets of magnets and at least one is lost in every set. It is ridiculous.
Totally regret the purchase but too much invested in it now to give up and buy a different system. Please look on the included URL at how the rust stains come from 'magnet residue' or from the use of Cascade. Really? Really???!!
Pros: right sized compartments for portioning a lunch, satellite dish is great for leftovers, dipper has a silicone disk to keep it more sealed, case has a nice pouch for ice on the inside and outside has a couple pockets for lunch accessories and a small drink bottle
Cons: took a little bit of scrubbing to get all the buffing compound of the launch (which made me a little hesitant the first time I used it), lid for the dipper doesn't stay on that well if it's not compressed by the launch (would not use in the accessory pouch), satellite is a hair too tiny, latch seems a little flimsy
Tips: dip your salad into the dipper instead of pouring over your salad...it's too time consuming to wash out the tray at work and will leak into the bag if you're not carrying it flat, get the ice pack...you don't want to ruin your bag by putting it in the dirty work fridge, invest in some sturdy plastic utensils...I was cringing while I scraped out the last bits of salad from the launch, if you're bringing a hot sandwich, use the satellite to hold and warm up the meat...use the drink holder pouch to hold your bread
Update: After several emails going back and forth, they are replacing the metal lunch boxes. I hope these last longer. I was also able to get a new replacement carry bag, as one of them had a whole wher the zipper starts.
