Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

One of the best astrology books to appear recently, this work is exceptional in its in-depth character analysis of each sign. The cosmic gifts, relationship trends, financial tendencies, and career tendencies associated with each sign are all described in detail. The mythology of each sign is included as well, nicely rounding out the book. While most astrology books concentrate on the strengths of the various signs, this book also delves into their negative aspects so that one can really see how to use the information in very practical terms. It's great for helping to deal with people who don't share the same outlook on life as you do. Highly recommended.DMarija Sanderling, Wells, ME

After years of delightful enjoyment regularly following astrologyzone.com I was expecting a lot more from this book. The writing here is eloquent (as expected), but the subject matter is really at a very basic level. Although this would be a wonderful primer for anyone just graduating from reading their daily horoscope in the newspaper comics section, anyone with even slightly more knowledge about astrology will be bored to tears. This material has all been covered before in the many very good and very bad books already out there. Haven't we all already read Linda Goodman's Sun Signs??? I am sure that regular (or even new) readers of Miller's website will agree that her yearly and monthly updates there are far more informative than anything in this book. It would have been great to see a book that came from her offering the same level of complexity and nuance that makes her take on astrology at Astrology Zone so readable and addictive. Maybe in the next book?

This was the perfect book to get started in learning about Astrology. As many know, astrology can get quite complicated. Susan breaks things down so that someone like me, a novice, can understand. You will eventually need more books that's go into greater depth on the different aspects, but without reading this book I would have no idea what additional books or info to even look for. I particularly like Susans personal story of her commencement into astrology. She is quite funny. I've been able to understand myself, as well as my friends, in greater depth. This book is a GREAT buy.

Susan Miller's book is full of information about the science behind the planets and the astrology behind the planets. Then a blend of the two. This is an excellent book to sort through the confusion regarding astrology and planets and their roles. I highly recommend this book.

I agree with one other reviewer that the book is pretty basic... however, her writing style and the personal warmth makes the book worth reading for anyone. I think she wrote in a style that kept my interest, even though I am not a beginning. I too, would like to see her next book be in more depth. I enjoyed this book, and I have not regretted paying the hard cover price for it at a book store. For those who are quite advanced in astrology, you may prefer a more 'technical' text. It depends on what you're looking for, or what your goal is. I follow Susan Miller on her AstrologyZone website also, and don't ever miss it. She truly is one of the world's top astrologers now, in my estimation.

In search of a good beginner's book? Here you have it. It is simple and basic and not too complex. Though I must admit, I really liked her break down of science vs. astrology for each of the planets. That was a unique and interesting touch not many astrology books look at. I was hoping for more, much much more, especially after viewing the credentials of the author. But the book is seriously lacking for the advanced or even intermediate level astrologer seeking a good read.

Susan Miller is spot-on and definitely knows what she's talking about, but I knew that. She hit on things about me that no one knows, little nuances that validate astrology for me, and help me to understand me better. LOVED it
