About the Author
Dr Jimmy T (Gunny) LaBaume has spent his entire life, in one capacity or another, in agriculture--primarily cattle and horse ranching and rodeo. This involvement includes being born and raised in the business, earning advanced degrees (BBA, MS, PhD) in three different areas of agriculture (Business and Economics, Animal [beef cattle] Production and Range Management and Economics). He has held important management positions (Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer) in large land and cattle businesses with tens of thousands head of cattle and millions of acres of land under his management. His academic career spanned almost 30 years of teaching and research at the university level. He has authored six books and has published hundreds of articles in popular and scholarly journals. His two most recent books (The Betrayed: On Warriors, Cowboys, and Other Misfits and A Handbook for Ranch Managers) are available at Amazon.com) He currently owns and operates his own ranch and is President and CEO of Land & Livestock International, Inc—a ranch management consulting firm offering services ranging from after dinner speaking engagements to providing, turn-key ranch management and everything in between.
