Thought it looked like a decent tackle box until the first time I knocked it over. Even though it was closed, nothing stays in the top tray due to the high lid. It does not close off the top tray like it does the other 2, so even if you are a little rough with it everything jumps around and is a complete mess when you open it back up.

I use mine to keep all my current jewelry projects. Its great and organized. I really can get a lot of supplies in it. Then when I open it to use it- I don't have to dig around it's all right there ready for me. Seems to hold up pretty well too. Definitely recommend. I love it!

I'd love to have a nickel for every kid that had one of these for his/her first tackle box. Chances are, it was a filthy mess when the kid got it, and he or she cleaned it up and had it shining the first time they took it out to the creek bank. I don't have any kids, but I recently gave mine away to a friend who is getting into fishing for the first time. This tackle box is great for someone just starting out, or for the person who has to make themselves carry as little gear along as possible, otherwise, they'd bring everything in their garage. Durable, with plenty of room for an extra spool of line, pliers, knife, and gloves, along with plenty of room for lures, hooks, sinkers, etc. You can't go wrong with this one.

What ever happened to high quality? I had a Plano box like this and it was fairly well made but the hinges (they're plastic) broke after a few years. Tried to replace it and all the current Plano boxes in this size range are made of flimsy / flexible material, hinged arms on trays and lid hinge low quality and will almost certainly not give long service. I would much prefer to pay a much higher price and get a quality box but they don't seem to be available. I hope Amazon will pass this on to Plano.

My daughter is really getting into making jewelry. I tried to find something for her to carry a of her supplies in. This seemed like the perfect solution. All of her stuff can stay organized. She can see what her inventory is. Having the handle makes it convenient to take it with her.

I was extremely disappointed with the Plano 3-Tray Tackle Box. I have a small 2-Tray Box and a large 6-Tray Plano Tackle Boxes, and they are well made and stable and I have been very pleased with them over the years. However, the Plano 3-Tray Tackle Box that I recently purchased is another story. The plastic lid is very, very thin, and bends as you open the box. The trays are very unstable and you have to be extremely careful when you open the trays that they rest on the stops in the lid or the box has a tendency topple over. In summary, the 3-Tray Box in no way has the same quality as previous ones that I use. In my estimation I cannot recommend it as I think it is a piece of junk.

I am using this to organize all of my dremel bits. There are plenty of slots for all the types of bits and a good amount of storage down below for the dremel tool. Its light, cheap, and maintains its balance when the lid is pulled fully open.

Time-tested, traditional design. A classic since at least the 70's.
Both the bottom and top have plenty of room for large items. Three trays open and close smoothly.
It's got plastic loops for an external padlock. The center clasp closes easily and holds it closed.

If there's any one small complaint, it's that if you tip it over, the top shelf's contents can spill into the top of the box. You can prevent that with a folded rag on top of the loose stuff, so it's no big deal.
This is the original version of this box. There is a later version with the addition of pop-up lid compartments on the outside of the box. I don't find those have any value to me since they are prone to spill their contents when the lid is opened, but you might want to know that model is available.

It's reasonably sturdy and the rear hinge has held up. The top handle is solid. You can knock this one around (up to a point) without babying it.
I like mine and don't feel any need to upgrade to something more expensive. This is a great tackle box.
As others have mentioned, this could work well for all kinds of small hobby parts, not just fishing.

These are available from lots of Amazon vendors at wildly fluctuating prices. $18-25 is about what you'll pay in a Big Box Store. No need to overpay online.
Hope this was helpful. Happy fishing, everybody.
