Another chapter of the book highlights buildings that have been demolished or otherwised destroyed. It serves as a great reminder of the importance of historic preservation. For example, compare the castle-like old Plano School to the building that replaced it (now Cox Gymnasium) side-by-side as their pictures appear in the book. It would make anyone sad that the original structure was destroyed. It's also sad that several other homes, such as the old Bishop, Rasor, and Schimelpfenig homesteads have been lost through the years.
I can't wait for Ms. McCulloch's next book about this interesting city.
