About Us

In 1952, Warren “Pete” Henning returned from a Florida fishing trip with the desire to improve the tackle box. Pete set out to create a lighter, rust-proof product that could withstand saltwater fishing trips. His design replaced metal with plastic, which reduced weight while still providing durable, versatile storage. This re-envisioned concept also removed the possibility of rust, since plastic resists water and rust formation.

But the tackle box was just the beginning for Plano Molding Company. We quickly realized the basic concept of molded plastic storage could benefit more than just fishermen.

Our product line now includes storage options for gun owners, archers and hunters. We have soft cases and hard cases; backpacks and duffels; boxes of every shape and size. We even ventured outside the outdoor industry to invent the cosmetic organization category with Caboodles, and later brought organization to the crafting industry with Creative Options.

It all started with one tackle box, but it has grown into much more. We take care of you by taking care of your gear. Thank you for trusting us to PROTECT YOUR PASSION.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really like this product

Really like this product. It is sturdy enough to protect my new bow to store in the home and to transfer back and forth to the range. This is my first bow (Craze II by Missions). The case has plenty of holes on the inside cover arranged in a grid pattern to add accessories. Based on a previous review where the person posting had provided pictures I used the following using #8x1/2 standard threaded flat screws .I ordered Pasow 7" velcroe strips that I put a screw through to add a simple Staples pencil case to hold my release and other things and also to hold an Easton Wedge Arrow Puller. I am including pictures that also show the setup. I also used Performix 11203 Plasti Dip Black Multi-Purpose Rubber Coating Aerosol to spray the foam that came with the case. I have used this in the past for rifle cases with a lot of luck. The more coats you use the better; I only used 1 application but it will hold in this particular situation. Honestly, after a lot of research I found this to be the most affordable application for what I was trying to achieve. My only concern is the plastic, hinged clips to shut the case seem a bit on the cheaper side, but thus far I have had no issues. Per the instructions with the case I placed the two yellow pillars where they would not interfere with the bow but would be in the most centered position to give the case support. I then use the velcro strips that came with the case to keep the bow in place. I do have to adjust the placement of the quiver on the bow when putting the bow back into the case, but that's because of where I put the pillar nearest to it. I am thinking about using some of the velcro strips to place the quiver on the inside lid, but so far there has been no need. Great product from what I have experienced thus far. The deliver was prompt with no issues.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great case, with a lot more usable room if you make a few modifications.

This Plano bow case has options for where you can mount the pillars, and comes with three Velcro tie-downs. In order to give you options to mount those, there are a bunch on screw-mounting points (top and bottom), and about 14 screws. I picked up an extra pack of #8 x 1/2" panhead screws and went to town:
(view Picture 1)

For my E35 bow, the pillars (A) can be positioned to pass thru the riser and hold the bow steady. So I only used one of the Velcro tie-downs (B) to hold the bow in place. So now I had two extra tie-downs that I mounted to the top to hold my quiver (C). They were a little too short, so I had to cut them in half, and use a total of 4 screws to mount the 4 different pieces. Here is a detail of how they hold the quiver:
(view Picture 2)

After that I just added a spare pouch that I had laying around (D) with the same kind of screws -- this holds some pencils, string wax, etc. The big storage compartment (E) is a zip-up TDK cassette tape case that I've had around since about 1985. I knew that thing would come in handy one of these days! If you're too young to have one of those...well, I don't know, screw in an iphone box or something. :-) Seriously -- any kind of a light-weight storage box would fasten in there. It doesn't look huge, but this box holds a lot of stuff:
(view Picture 3)

I sewed up a couple simple cloth bags (F) to hold my Bee Stinger stabilizers so they don't get scratched. There is a spot to clip in arrows at the top, but honestly I usually just leave them in the quiver -- they stick out over the top of the TDK storage box, and there is enough room to close the case without bothering the arrows.

So that's it! I don't know why Plano doesn't do more up front to allow storage options, but there is a lot of room in that lid. Just use it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great bow case
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on October 24, 2021
I had a soft case and it was getting towards the end of it's days so I figured I would upgrade just a bit. I read the reviews and some others off the net. This case is Sturdy, easy to put together and I feel confident when I get to the woods my bow is safe. The foam is a bit thin but it'll do till it wears out and then you have a template for some new foam. My only complaint is the handles there plastic and snap into the case instead of using a pin to secure it. They do give you a replacement one which is nice. Overall I would definitely recommend this case any little flaws it has is easy to get over.

Great customizable case on a budget! Fits my Obsession Fixation 7m nicely with the Apex game-changer quiver attached that gives me 5 arrows in the case and quite possibly i might be able to attach the 6 on the inside top of the case.

I do run a black gold verdict sight with the adjustable wheel for yardage, so it is a bit bulky but i believe i can make the arrows fit.

Update; I ordered a MTM 6 arrow traveler case to hold some extra high end arrows, the case is 2" thick and it works wonderfully with this bow case. I am able to fit 17 complete arrows in the bowcase. 5 in the quiver, 6 in the case mounted arrow holder and 6 in the traveler case which fits perfect in the bow case, and also holds down the extra broadhead plastic box better.
