She loves going through the pages and telling me the colors and the names of the flowers. The book is very sturdy and well made and will clearly stand up to multiple readings per day. One very happy little girl (and granny)!

It’s a lovely explanation of growing through the seasons.
I think it’s a delightful little book but my son doesn’t feel the same - perhaps I misjudged this for his age but it’s just not captured his interest.
Just to note this is American with lots of American spellings. Doesn’t bother me as my boy it too young, but mentioning it in case it is important to others.
Don’t expect an amazing story, it’s a much more factual description about picking bulbs, seed packets and bulbs, planting them in autumn and spring and how they grow into various beautiful flowers by summer. The book has tab like pages for all the flowers grown, separated and ordered into the colours of the rainbow (a bit like the hungry caterpillar book).
It’s a really beautiful book and my son has loved the vibrancy of the pages. I got the book for two reasons:
1) he was struggling with colours (names and matching)
2) I’m an avid gardener myself and I hope it will help him to be interested in it when I can potter about later this year. The book has plenty of longevity because it actually depicts real plants and has their names next to them: ferns, poppy, daffodil etc
It has bought his colour knowledge forward massively: he can say green and blue now and can match primary colours easily. So the book in my eyes, is well worth the money I paid.
If you are into the Montessori method, this book fells well into that style of teaching. Just a note for anyone in the UK, it’s an American book so autumn is referred to as ‘fall’. I just adjust this while reading it to him, I don’t think it’s a big issue.
