First of all... ow. This headset is not designed for large heads. Second of all... ow. This headset is not designed for anyone that can feel pain at all. The "pads" are extremely stiff, and no. They don't soften. This made the entire three months that I owned this headset a lesson in withstanding torture. There was constant pressure on my head and constant pain on my ears for the entire time that I used this.

The audio quality is okay at best and the microphone quality isn't near the quality of other headsets that I've owned. Yes, this is a cheap headset. It still doesn't excuse the poor quality of these two aspects.

The only saving grace is that it worked, and worked pretty well... for three months. At which point, the cord came loose and I had to superglue the cord to the left ear piece in order to get it to work while I waited for my (far superior) headset to arrive. If you're in desperate need of a $15 headset, there are far better ones out there. Save your head from this pain and get something else.

The Microphone goes bad after six months to a year

These headphones are great while they work but I have owned two others for the same model for my other offices, and all three have failed after six months to a year. The sound coming in is fine but the microphone goes bad or the line develops a short in it and the other person won't hear you or only hears parts of the conversation. The same thing happened on all three of the headphones ordered. Do not buy unless you only want for the headphones and not the microphone for calling. Very disappointed with Plantronics. Normally they are a quality manufacturer. I have other prodcuts from Plantronics that work great. It must be a design flaw in these headphones. I am a confirmed purchaser on Amazon for three of these same headphones.

We own five of these, so that right there should tell you quite a bit about how we feel about this headset.

Are you going to get studio quality sound out of these? Of course not - they're meant to be a basic headset/microphone for use with a computer, with an emphasis towards voice quality since the microphone boon implies that these will be used with products like Skype, TeamSpeak, Ventrilo and the like.

I think these deliver excellent sound for the price, both incoming through the headphones and outgoing through the mic. Those I chat with say my speech is clear and ungarbled, easy to hear without constant changes in volume. I'm able to hear voices, or music, quite nicely through these.

I also will mention - I have very small ears, and finding earbuds or headphones that I can wear comfortably is a HUGE issue for me. These are the only headphones I've found that I can actually wear for several hours without trouble. My husband, who has more normal sized ears, says they are very comfortable for him as well.

I really like the boom mic on this headset, too - I like that I can position it as needed, and easily move it out of my way when it's not needed. I've had a few headsets where it felt like the mic boom was somehow "pulling" the headset forward with its weight - something I never understood, I mean, just how heavy does a mic really need to be?? These don't give that sensation at all... they feel very balanced.

These do have a fairly tight fit on the head. It's easy enough to stretch them out a bit simply by putting them over the arm of a sofa (or something similar) overnight. As long as you wear them somewhat regularly after that, they'll maintain the stretched sizing. If unused, they will go back to being nearly as tight as they were at time of purchase... that might actually be a bonus to some buyers. It's of course a simple matter to stretch them again if needed.

So yes, we like these so much we own five sets. We use them with all of our computers/laptops, and it gives us spares for when a set eventually gives out.

We consider these to be an excellent product for the price. We're definitely getting good value out of them.

These rival my more expensive usb gaming headset in some ways, but you'll see why it's not as expensive very quickly.

Very comfortable, clean and crisp sound, lightweight, and easy to use. Works well on my computers, laptops, and (with adaptors) works beautifully with my home phone. That means a lot to me since I work from home.

I'll admit; I did end up returning these because I already had a few much more expensive gaming headsets that I thought wouldn't work with my phone as I went to working from home. In fact, it was this headset that was difficult to find the right adapters for. It wasn't until I actually used it at work did I realize it didn't bring the microphone through with the same adapter that DID work with my Logitech gaming headset.

Also, putting these on for a minute or two to see how they feel is one thing, but wearing them for more than 20 minutes was quite uncomfortable. If you need a good, cheap, quick headset for your computer that you'll use sparingly at best, look no further. Other than that, I wouldn't recommend this headset.

A little tight on the ears but great sound for the price. These are replacing a more expensive Steel Series head set that broke...cheaply made. I know this is a bold statement but the Plantronics have a better sound. To date, no issues w/ the sound nor the microphone. A couple of cons:
The volume control does not go to zero, it drops to about %25. The Mute switch is pretty flimsy, there is no satisfying snap to tell if you are truly on mute or not. And the ear piece is a little tight on the ears. Not as comfortable as the steel series. After an hour of gaming my ears can get a bit sore.
Otherwise, great sound for the price and appears well built.
