After I purchased this game through Amazon, which was said by Amazon to be the “the simplest, quickest way to purchase”. Amazon touted all the buyer had to do after purchase, was to follow a “few simple steps” to download. Well, that statement by Amazon proved to be completely false.
After several attempts to follow Amazons “so called few & simple steps”, I called my IT guy from work. This guy is very capable, so capable he no longer works for our company because the FBI recruited him. Point is I had a very capable person guiding me over the phone, in trying to download this game.
Of the multiple times I had contacted Amazon “Help”, I was taken even further down the rabbit hole. To add to the frustration, every Amazon resource I was connected to for help, between the challenge of having a terrible connection every time, and the Amazon employee being almost impossible to understand because it was all too clear the Amazon employee’s primary language was not English.
Amazons simple, few steps to download was BS. In my attempts, following Amazons instructions, just seemed to continue to take me down an endless Rabbit Hole. I kept on having to Download a variety of other software, and being forced to create a number of accounts with third party website that I suspect that had no benefit to what I needed, but only served to provide Amazon with additional revenue by Amazon selling out its customers to third party companies.
Probably like so many other people in similar situations, I gave up. I figured it wasn’t even worth my time for the $4.95 I paid for the game. So, I just gave up, and let it go.
Fast forward to the present, I recently attended a national Department of Defense Cyber security seminar. While having dinner with associates, us dads began to talk about family, children and such. Then I was blown away when one of the dads starting sharing his frustrations of a recent purchase from Amazon, for a video game download for his son, and his frustrations in dealing with the overwhelming and unnecessary challenges he experienced in attempting to download a simple video game for his son.
His story ended the same way mine did, he just gave up, and figured the money he paid for the game wasn’t worth the trouble, so he just let it go.
This spurred sudden angry words of so many others that had similar experiences.
We discussed sharing our experiences with the appropriate Federal Agency. My guess is that there is likely a huge precedence that exists, of so many more similar experiences.
For the sake of fairness, I’m going to reach out to Amazon one last time, before we act. But hopes aren’t high for any kind of worthy response.
Like so many large companies, sadly a large company usually fails to react in an intelligent way, when a person contacts them, especially with a concern that is such a ‘large scale’ impact on their company and the severe negative impact of Amazon ignoring customers’ concerns, and failing to act when the company could have mitigated any potential significant financial or PR cost.
Amazon seems to obviously has grown so big in its own Autocracy, that it will follow the typical corporate precedence that large corporations don’t acknowledge its discrepancies until after it suffers consequences from its own action.
Bottom line: purchase down-loadable software from Amazon at your own risk.
If you do, and the product fails – do not just let it go. If nothing else, contact your State’s Attorney General and share your experience with them.
Amazon – like tens of millions of others, I have used your service for many years, and have been very satisfied & pleased. This is what intensifies my frustration with one particular resource that is so hopelessly inadequate your company continues to use.
I hope the leadership of your company chooses to recognize this responsibly, and take appropriate action to correct, before your company allows this to become an avoidable consequence that likely will cost your company dearly.

Use your Product Key and Download directly from Origin.
I had a heck of a time getting this thing to work. I downloaded it from Amazon and kept getting messages about updating my Windows. I already have Windows 10 (recommended) so I was chatting up the EA support folks. Well, long (very long actually) story short, I needed download the Origin software and create an account first. Then under the Origin menu at the top, click on Redeem Product Code. Boom! It worked perfect after I finally did it right. My advice is do not download directly from Amazon! This is not a new game. The kids and I have played it before and we all love it. We have beat the Zomboss several times but still enjoy playing.
