I own the 375Xtreme and a Hypertherm PM45. I take the 375 with me on portable jobs and the PM40 stays permanently in the shop. Although the PM40 is considered the absolute "KING" of plasma cutters, the Miller "Xtreme" series of cutters is the "KING's ASSISTANT." Yes, the Millers are "that" good!!! The PM40 is a bigger unit that cuts thicker metal and the two can't be compared, as they are in different "classes" of plasma cutters. I just listed the two in this review because anybody in the welding (plasma) industry knows, Hypertherm is the very best. Back to the Miller 375X... For a home shop, this IS the plasma cutter for you. I don't buy Longevity or Everlast or "Horrible Fright" for that matter. With the Miller, you have the great customer support of the company and finding replacement consumables for the plasma torch (cups, electrodes etc...) are relatively easy to score. You can't say that about Everlast or Longevity. With the Miller 375X, you get what you pay for! It gets an "A+" as far as cutting, durability and portability goes. I cut 3/8" steel routinely with it, on a 220v circuit. This cutter can also run off of a 120v outlet (20A or more), but it's a bit slower in that case. 220v gives you the most "horse power" and best performance with this cutter. Just make sure you have an air compressor that's big enough! A small "pancake" style (toy) compressor won't work. I have the 15gal DeWalt that's found at Home Depot and it performs great for this cutter! Also, make sure your air compressor is on it's own electrical outlet circuit than the cutter, otherwise you'll trip your breakers while both machines are running. For the cutter, a 20A outlet is required at minimum.Read more ›

This unit is very easy to use for a newbie. small light & weight easy to carry around. DO NOT USE with extenion cord. it pulls a lot of amps and trips most of the breakers I have plugged into. Works Best with 220v

Amazing performance! Incredibly compact! A real joy to use. Like any plasma cutter you will need a decent sized compressor. I find it runs great on any old 20 amp circuit unless you are at max amps. The amount of power out of this tiny 19 lb box is just amazing.

For size, think of 2 loaves of white bread one on top of the other.

Torch has a great feel. A small case with a spare set of consumables is included, inside the handy carry case..

I LOOOVE it.

I have used my thermal dy pak master 25 for over15 years when it died for good. My next door neighbor had a Miller spectrum 375 he had never used and offered it to finish what I was working on. My project was a tractor box blade of .25 plate and a .50 carbon blade. This mule did the job well. Using a 100' 10ga extension cord it would cut more than 24" of .25 plate before it would rest and never popped the 125 breaker. The .50 was only 9" wide and did it in two passes with no problem. My only issue is it requires 90 psi as my old TD 25 would do the same job with 50 psi. This plasma rocks!
