These units will not stick to rubber-encased plates or dumbbells. Make sure that the whole magnet is is contact with the plate or dumbbell.

The only downside of my Powerblocks is that there is a 5 pound jump between the tens. This was causing me to hit a wall, or to make difficult leaps that felt risky. NO MORE! These magnetic plates almost feel made for powerblocks. They attach perfectly to the U90s. They feel very secure, and yet are easy to remove due to the “lip: on the magnets. These are coated with a rubberized coating that feels premium, and so I’m not worried about them scratching my weights. They attach really securely to my weight table when not in use. I bought a set of 2 1/2 pounds plates to save money. It feels fine to put one on each of my dumbbells. The balance is slightly off, but I just rotate them between sets. They have to be removed anyway when returning the powerblocks into the rest of the weights, so it’s more convenient than having one on each side... Also, they do attach to the metal base of the Powerblocks, and for many exercises this works best (and so two weights on each is REALLY overkill).
They’re expensive, but are well-made, and look great, and solve a problem and help avoid injury—so I’m happy I splurged.
The only reason I’d consider buying the 1 1/4 weights would be if I’d want smaller microloading, but I doubt that’s necessary.
im disappointed since these, although pricey, are much cheaper than filling in the in between weights on my dumbbell set. if price is a driving factor- then you can take a chance on these, but i went with safety as the priority and sent them back
also amazon packaging came shredded with these almost falling out
