Not a fan of this movie...as a veteran who served along side many Vietnam veterans, I find it hard to swallow that every bad thing American soldiers did in Vietnam, was highlighted and fed into a two hour movie. Were there atrocities commited by US soldiers, murder, rape, assult, drug use..the answer is yes but, to me the movie gives the impression that this was the norm rather than the exception.

I was shocked to find that I did not like this movie at all. I always like war movies - especially those from the Viet Nam era, but I found this repetitive and boring.

Platoon disc will not play. Single disc bought from Amazon.
I just tried to watch Platoon. It will not play in my Panasonic DMP BD80 with the latest firmware update. All my other Blu-rays play fine. I ejected & tried several times. Player says reading & then a message pops up saying "Cannot read disc. Check disc." The disc looks perfect. No scratches or marks of any kind. I see another person had this same issue.
I buy so many BDs that it is months b4 I get a chance to watch them & I watch several BD movies per week. So, the Amazon return exchange window is over b4 I discover the defective disc.

Very disappointing in the amount of foul language. I realize that is used alot in war time but it was way over the edge. I would not recommend it or watch it again.

Looked brand new but did not work. At the time of purchase, my blue-ray player was brand new. I've played hundreds of dvd's since with this being the only dvd that has failed to play. Upon receipt I notified the seller and was told "it should have worked". With a response like that I figured any further correspondence would be a waste of time.

Its a great movie but the disc skips and its brand new You can only watch the first five minutes and then it starts to skip
