The sprinkler maker was a bit of a pain because its hard to clean. BUT I figured it out!
I actually unscewed it (there is a small screw at the bottom of it) and now it works like a sprinkler PLUS I can clean it.
Also to put the orange top on I figured it out: You have to put the orange top on and twist slightly to keep it in place. Then to take it off, just twist it off. Once you know this part - its not that bad. One more thing - its best to clean up the toy ie take all playdoh off it after kids are done playing so it does not harden up and block the parts where the "ice cream" comes out off.
Hope these comments help.
All in all I would say buy this big tub of playdoh stuff they sell at toys r us for like $20 and it comes with a ton of playdo and cutters and molds... so much better than this contraption!
I wouldn't recommend this, even though I usually love the play doh toys.
The attachments to create swirls of 'ice cream', 'toppings' squeezer, and 'sprinkles' cranker are all easy to fit. My little one was able to manipulate the attachments with some effort but she could do so independently.
This is definitely one of my daughter's favorites of the Play Doh sets that we have and it has been keeping her occupied in creating various confections and 'iced' delights:) Final verdict: a fun and value Play Doh set that will encourage little ones to create and play make-believe!
You have to assemble the set which is very easy to do. You place the playdoh in the large plunger extruder to make the soft-serve icecream. Select which shape the playdoh will come out into a cone or sundae dish. As you push down on the lever, the playdoh is extruded into the cone or dish which turns so you get the soft serve effect. According to the photos, the softserve playdoh looks realistic. When you do it yourself, it looks like a mess (but that's ok!). The sprinkle machine is rather easy to use, but some children will initially have problems understanding how to take the top off, screw back the top and then put it back together to start "sprinkling". There is also another plunger extruder for "whipped cream" or whatever loose topping.
My biggest complaint with this set is that it is very hard for my 3 year old to operate the soft-serve extruder and sprinkler herself. I find it a bit difficult to push it down as well.
The set comes with many many many molds of cookies, candies, fruits, decorations etc. This is nice, but it's a bit overwhelming.
Overall I gave it 3 stars because it is hard for younger children to use by themselves.

This is probably one of our least favorite Play-Doh toys. You have to constantly refill the ice cream to even make a full cone, so you don’t get a very nice perfect effect of ice... Read morePublished 16 days ago by KM. Miller
Kids loved it at first but didn't quite meet their expectations for making things using the set. Ended up doing a lot by hand.Published 8 months ago by TC
