I really enjoyed Emilio and Sophie's story, but I thought it ended a little abruptly...like maybe the author would have rather written a longer book and just needed to stop to meet a word count! Their chemistry was instant and visceral, and not because of Emilio's job, although the scene in the club was certainly hot! I would have loved to have seen their relationship develop more, as well as Sophie's with her family, but I still loved this story!
You will fall head over heels with Sophie and Emilio from the opening line….. "The guy sitting at table seven was either addicted to strip clubs or an insomniac with a glitter fetish."
I love that Sophie changed her whole life to pursue her passion, even if that meant leaving her well known father behind. As for Emilio how can you not fall for the man who strips while going after his dream so he can give his mother and sisters a better life? Cue the swoon.
The author does an amazing job of putting a lot of story into a little but it never feels rushed. You will finish the story with a grin and a sigh and maybe a flush because it does get hot. This is a story and a box set that will go on your keeper shelf to be pulled out and re-read each festive season. I know I will be.
Sophie Drayton is a bad girl gone good -the former wild child daughter of a big name music producer who grew up living the rock star life until a year ago when she decided to clean up her act and head back to school to be a librarian, supporting herself as a waitress in an all night diner.
So far, it's been pretty easy to live the straight life, but when a devastatingly handsome late night customer asks her to come see him dance in the all male review at the local strip club, all those carefully constructed walls begin to wobble and her ice princess facade seems in danger of crumbling around her.
Kimberly Kincaid writes strong, smart, sexy women with a sense of humor and an unquenchable zest for life and the brash, confident, steamy hot alpha males who love them. Sophie and Emelio are all of those things and their love story will hold you spell bound.
Sophie doesn't trust easily and has built some steel walls around her heart after being let down most of her life by the person she loves most. Emilio is an erotic dancer, but his one passion in life is music so he also plays some gigs. Emilio is one sexy man who has plenty of charisma and cockiness. He frequents the all night diner where Sophie works and tries multiple times to get her to go out with him, with no luck. Until one night Sophie ends up in the club where Emilio dances. These two have an instant attraction and Emilio is soon let passed Sophie's walls, but when a flyer catches Sophie's attention soon things start to crumble for this couple. Will Emilio let this little bump destroy his relationship with Sophie? Can Sophie see passed the cocky exterior to see the man she has come to trust?
I loved this novella, the hot sexy scenes and chemistry, the emotions these characters went through. It will all keep you turning the pages as the story unfolds and heals some heart you will definitely finish with a smile on your face
