Jennifer Probst has written another great story in her newest release, Play Me. The hero and heroine in this book were smart, strong, dominant and sexy. What more could a reader ask for? Rome Steele is a tough, sexy dominant male who's found his match in Sloane Keller, a smart and sassy woman. He challenges her to a card game and winner will get to dominate in the bedroom. The story had witty dialogue and super hot sex scenes. I loved the interaction betweeen Rome and Sloane and readers learn some background about them during their conversation. It's always fun to watch two resistant people fall in love and I enjoyed every scene of it. I'm looking forward to reading Rafe Steele's story next.

This book is so short it barely qualifies as a novella. Way overpriced in my opinion. It is part of a series, and I just don't care enough to read the last one. I really like this author, but this whole One Night Stand series could have all been included (meaning every author contributing) in one large volume of short stories (that is what this is) and then it would be worth the price of $3.99. The characters are interesting and as always Probst does a great job with dialogue and story, but this just isn't worth the cost. Save your money, this book isn't worth it.

What happens when two Alphas come together? It's Combustible!!!! Roman Steele (Rome)and Sloane Keller (Kitten) are brought together through FANTA-C the service that grants their clients their ultimate night of pleasure fulfilling any fantasies a client has ever wanted. Their first meeting truly set the tone for the rest of the book AND their relationship....

"He seemed even more pleased at her obstinacy. They both knew she'd received his name and some brief details. Still, he answered. "Roman Steele. You can call me Rome." He looked like a Rome. she imagined him dressed in armor and chains leading an army of men with no thought to being disobeyed. Imagined him standing over the bed of a naked woman, ready to enjoy his spoils."

Rome has recently relocated to Vegas at the request of his brother Rick. Rome needs to have control because of a recent event in his life. Sloane is a professional Poker Player and her skills are legendary. And her control tendencies are gold for her when she's playing the game that earns her a living. In the bedroom she likes the same control, but, secretly I think she wants to give up this control. I loved how Rome took control from day one....

"At the moment, she was surprised she didn'ts pot fangs. He looked exactly like a wolf who was about to enjoy long hours toying with his meal. 'Let's play, Sloane Keller. Take off your clothes.'"

Watching Sloane struggle with how she wanted to fight Rome and his demands in the bedroom was intriguing as I could really see how this went against everything she is as a woman and how she felt she needed to maintain this control because it would make her less of a woman if she acquiesced.

So I was on my way to either becoming a serious Jennifer Probst fan or just entranced with the one night stand series, because I have read several of these books. Even though I have enjoyed the series I have decided to jump on board the big fan of Jennifer Probst train. What can I say? I'm a HUGE fan of BDSM, whether light (in this one its light) or just all out. It just adds that extra bit of naughtiness to the scene and I love it! But this book brought a whole other level to the playing field. In most books I have read the woman has secretly wanted to be dominated, but to Sloane, its a total surprise!! She just thought that something was wrong with her and she was hard to bring to an orgasm, unless of course it was by her own hand :) Men were intimidated or jealous of her so she just kind of brushes of entanglements. But she missed sex (with a partner) and Madame Eve seemed like a great way to get some hot sex with no mess. And then she gets a glimpse of Roman and all that changes..

Roman was tired. He just wanted a cold drink and a good nights sleep. The last thing he was up for was a blind date set up through his brother via a dating service. But he was happily married and he really wanted to spread it around the joy. Roman receives Eve's text letting him know where his date awaited. As he makes the journey to the card table that she is located at, a dawning comes upon him.
Sloane Keller is the Queen of Cards and he was half in love with her already!!! He had watched her on the circuit and had even been present at a few of her games. Oh this woman was just what the doctor ordered!!!

Roman and Sloane go through a battle of wills because both are dominate. It was easy to picture the sparks flying all over the place with these two battling out the supremacy issues. I really enjoyed this short hot number and can't wait for the next Steele to pop up!!

A scorchingly hot erotic quick read.

Sloan Keller had to grow up tough in order to get ahead. Being strong and independent comes in handy when you’re a professional poker player in a mostly male dominated arena. But finding a man who’s strong and secure enough to keep her interest isn’t that easy. She wants a man that can be her equal emotionally and dominate physically. Even if she finds someone like this, will she take the risk of asking for forever?
“What were you looking for, Sloan?” A man to make her forget she always had to be in charge. A man to cuddle her and make her feel feminine and cared for. A man to challenge her mind and make her spirit soar.”

Rome Steel, the Queen of Cards, is a man tired of settling for anything less than a partner with spark, someone who’ll stimulate him mentally. A headstrong, confident and astute woman who challenge him in and out of the bedroom and strong enough that she won’t easily submit to his domineering tendencies. Caving into his brother’s suggestion to use Fanta-C, a very private matchmaking agency, he’s shocked to see the woman they set him up with. A woman who's "very demeanor called to his soul to complete him." Can one night be enough for them?
“Do you think this is the middle ages, buddy? What are you going to do – spank me?”
His lips twitched. “Actually, yes. That’s exactly what I’m going to do.”

This novella was hot, HOT, H.O.T. Perhaps I found it so because I love strong characters and these two fit the bill perfectly. I didn’t just like that Sloan is a smart woman. I loved how she did not easily back down, which only served to ratchet up the intensity between her and Rome. Of course Rome was more than up for the task and completely yummy in his alphaness.
