I'm not much of a gamer, I actually only purchased the mic to play Risk with friends. The hook up was easy, I plugged the headset into the PS3 via the provided USB cable, updated my settings for the PS to use the USB headset it and was good to go. Sound quality is good, although I do not have anything to compare it to, but I can hear gamers clearly. There is a control box on the cord with mute, mute all players, and volume control. The cord is long enough to sit comfortably with out worrying it will pull out of the port. The fact that it is wired can be bothersome when you need to go get something more than 15ft from the PS but all in all it was a good buy and perfect for what I will use it for. I recommend to casual gamers looking for an inexpensive headset.

Update - this was purchased July 16, 2011. The mute button started malfunctioning around August 2012. The headset stopped working the last week of December 2012. It seems the wire inside has a disconnect and people cannot hear me anymore. All in all not a bad run for an $23 headset, 1 year and 5 months of 3 days a week use. I think I will be getting another one considering the cost has gone down.

I bought this same headset easily 5 or more years ago in a discount bin at a grocery store funnily enough. The headset was ten dollars and it lasted me up until recently. Sound quality is real nice my friends I game with tell me I sound better with this headset than I do with the sony gaming headset i currently own. Ordered this headset and I look forward to the same continual use I got from the last set I had. The last headset which was of the same brand had nothing break physically as far as i could tell nor was there any wear on the plastic the microphone simply stopped picking up audio which I just chalked up to it being old, I'm not under any illusion about this not being cheaply made but I think people are giving this headset less credit than its due. 10/10 will purchase again when my new headset breaks in another 5 years if they still stock them.

ITS GOT A 15 FOOT CORD!!! Plug and play, just make sure to change your setting. The sound quality of the ear piece is no better then well a $10 ear piece. The mic is not supper sensitive so it will pick up normal speech buteating a bag of chips is doable. Yes the control box gets warm but it does have 2 LEDs running through it. The MUTE button works great, but the mute all does not work on the PS3.

Just a personal annoyance is the control box sits backward to where I sit. so the leds are facing down. Other then that I just use it as a MIC around my neck. Using the TV speackers with my head phones.

This headset plugs into your PS3 with a cable via the USB port. I'm sure many people prefer a wireless headset but I wanted to keep it simple and be assured of connectivity. The cord is of ample length so you shouldn't have any trouble with it reaching to anywhere you sit for gaming. I sit right in front of the television so it's a non-issue for me. In fact it's way more cord than I need. The headset has the earpiece and an adjustable mic on one side and the other side has a plastic clamp that helps secure the headset to your head. You can choose which side you want the earpiece on. The whole rig is quite comfortable and easy to adjust. On the cord a dial is conveniently placed for muting your mic or muting the entire headset. It's a simple click of a button and a light flashes red when your mic is muted but there isn't an indicator light to show when you've muted everything. This dial also has a volume adjuster. Be warned, this piece of the headset gets alarming warm. It actually gets so hot that it's uncomfortable when it touches my skin. I paid $24 for this headset and I was very happy with it but in less than two months it quite working. Now it cuts in and out and sometimes quits working at all. If it lasted for at least a year I'd recommend it but as it stands I say avoid it.

It's a decent deal, what with it only costing about $20 but with the one I recieved you can't really move the mic that well. I'm a moron and atttempted to fix this by spinning the mic around a bunch of times and destroying all the internal cords. Completely severed the damn thing. Before that, I used it a lot for GTA online and it worked pretty well. A few times people couldn't hear me super great and since it's corded you always run the risk of a worn cord but it worked fine. I would honestly recommend spending the extra $10 and getting a blue tooth headset. It's a lot less hastle and you don't have that unsightly cord running all over your house. Also, you can keep it on when you leave the livingroom to poop.

Now I won't overkill this product with positive and I should probably wait a bit longer on this, but I'm just getting it out. This product has a great mic. My buddies can hear me and pretty much described it as "listening to a very clear radio station". The mic worked for an entire game session without delay, or disconnections. The ONLY problem would be just that the sound is a bit soft. Could be a bit louder. Other than that so far, so good. I'll send in an awesome review on this after more time has and the product is still perfect.

The headset works fine for the cost. You get what you pay for. I was able to chat with my friends well for a while. The in-line controls are very useful. The cord is very long so you aren't stuck too close to the console/TV. I really liked it for a while, as I don't really need it for more than voice chatting during gaming. The problem comes with life of the headset. I purchased (2) of these. The first one lasted three or four months with moderate/low usage (the microphone stopped working). The second headset died in a similar amount time. I eventually sucked it up and bought a higher quality/more expensive headset. This is a good headset to buy if you don't use it very often and don't care about it lasting a super long time.
