Didn't come with cable for television connection or cable for controller to console.
It includes the download voucher for The Last of Us. It includes extra content than the PS3 version, but is only accessible with Playstation Plus membership. Also included is a 14 day free trial for PP, a 20% off voucher and a one month free trial for Spotify Premium.
I feel as of today, this is the best deal for a PS4.
I finally ordered my new PS4, a little over a month ago. I've used it nightly since then and haven't had any issues. The system as a whole is great. Not only is it faster and more powerful, but it's practically silent. One of my complaints about the PS3, was the noise from the fan. Y'all know what i'm talking about. That whirring and grinding when playing discs, after extended use. There was also my fear of having it overheat. Within 30 minutes of using it (regardless of whether I was playing a game or streaming content), it would get hot. I haven't had that happen with the PS4 and I use it several hours each night.
The redesigned controller are much nicer as well. I haven't dealt with gamer's thumb at all, which I attribute to the more natural feel of the controller. They've made some small tweaks that (to me) have made a noticeable and positive difference. That's just one of the perks. Unlike the PS3 controllers, this one has a touchpad, an LED light on the front (which changes colors depending on what you're doing/playing), built in speakers with vibration and a port/jack for a wired head set (a decent pair of ear buds are included with your PS4).
I do wish that you could play your PS3 games on the PS4 but since the PS4 uses a completely different type of technology, it's not possible. Not yet anyway. There's no telling what the future holds.
The graphics and mapping have been greatly improved. The gameplay is fluid which is a major plus for me. I get motion sickness with choppy gameplay. I haven't had that happen with the PS4. It's really a great system. My only complaint is that they basically hold you hostage to purchase Playstation Plus. That's Sony's version of Xbox Live. The major advantage they had over Microsoft, was that they didn't charge an additional fee for you to go online with your games. I didn't realize that when I purchased this. It's not a deal breaker as it's only $50 for the year, but it did surprise me. I had no choice but to purchase a subscription, just so I could go online with GTA 5 (my favorite game). The whole reason I purchased that game, even though I already owned it on PS3, was for the online game play. Imagine my surprise when I received my new PS4 and GTA 5 (which I purchased separately), sat down to play, and couldn't do anything but story mode. I may or may not have spouted a few obscenities. I almost want to deduct 1 star for that (and would have, had I written this review within the first few days of having the system), but I now see the value in the subscription.
I've not yet played The Last of Us for PS4 so I can't really comment about that. I have it for PS3 though and really enjoyed it. The story is fantastic. Eventually, i'll get around to playing it on PS4 but for now, i'm still on my GTA kick.
He uses it for his PS4 games, as a blue-ray player, and we also stream our Netflix through it. It has kept him busy for hours. We loving refer to it as his "electronic man-sitter".
I will say when he first received this, I hardly saw him emerge from his man cave (sans a few meal breaks). Therefore, if you have read this review and decide to purchase this a gift, be prepared to see a lot less of the gamer in your life.
