The Karate Kid (2010) on UMD
12-year-old Dre Parker (Jaden Smith) could've been the most popular kid in Detroit, but his mother's (Taraji P. Henson) latest career move has landed him in China. Dre immediately falls for his classmate Mei Ying - and the feeling is mutual - but cultural differences make such a friendship impossible. Even worse, Dre's feelings make an enemy of the class bully, Cheng. In the land of kung fu, Dre knows only a little karate, and Cheng puts "the karate kid" on the floor with ease. With no friends in a strange land, Dre has nowhere to turn but maintenance man Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), who is secretly a master of kung fu. As Han teaches Dre that kung fu is not about punches and parries, but maturity and calm, Dre realizes that facing down the bullies will be the fight of his life.

The game: little big planet:
Fun little game but i only played few chapters. I lost interest after a while (I lose interest on games pretty quickly unless it's rpg). You can download some fan made chapters (stages) to play in also stages made by developers. Some are free some you have to buy.
Game console:
I like the console, it fits perfectly in my hand. I also like the way menu is designed-horizontal then more option comes out vertically. It's divided into music, video, network, system, picture, and game. You can take pictures with it but you have to buy a separate add-on which I don't have. You can listen to music using headphone (and use mic if you want to make Skype calls but you have to buy this piece separately). The sound is not that high compare to dedicated mp3 players but it is very clear. You can also download something call senseme, it has 12 built in mood you can use. Sort of like playlist (it automatically picks up a song based on melody).
Downloaded games runs really fast. The games that are on UMD, it takes few seconds to load. The shoulder buttons are not that smooth like dual shock controllers (ps2, ps3 console control). The battery life is pretty good (maybe about 5hrs) if you have the brightness to lowest setting.
I also watched the karate kid movie came with the package. The picture is very clear. It's colorful and looked Hd quality. There are some reflection if you use the system in a bright spot.
I like the buy, no regrets. You probably noticed I mainly use it for music. So you'll need to buy good size memory stick and 8gb stick cost about $28 last i checked.
That's all for now.
And speaking of games, there are a large variety of games out there. The PSP is known for the huge variety of SRPG games available for it (Disgaea series, Joanne de Arc, Final Fantasy Tactics, the upcoming Tactics Ogre game). You also have your action games (God of War series, MGS:PW, Phantasy Star Online 2), your concept games (Patapon series, Loco Roco series, Echochrome series, Little Big Planet), and other genres covered. Avenues of getting these games vary from new (like here from Amazon), used (take your choice), or via the PlayStation Network. This is what I consider a true benefit of the PSP-3000 versus the PSP-Go: the options of getting games.
Personally, I love this most recent iteration of the PSP-3000. It's light weight, brighter screen, and crisper graphics allow me to enjoy playing games like Disgaea without feeling fatigued compared to my older PSP-1000. Well worth the investment if you're someone new to the system or someone upgrading from an PSP-1000. Upgrading from a PSP-2000 however, that you'll have to find out from someone that has owned one. :)
This system typically sells by itself for $169.99. You are essentially getting a $40 discount, an excellent game, a movie, memory stick AND a $15 credit for a future game purchase from Amazon. That is a great deal if you are in the market for a PSP and I bought into this deal because I want to use it with my PS3 console.
However, I would suggest that one look very closely at the PSP game library and decide if these games are worth the purchase. Sony is rumored to be working on a successor console and I doubt that there will be much support for the PSP 3000 in the future. If you're buying it for the existing library or the media features, you'll get a great deal. Just don't expect too many more high profile releases for the PSP.
