Robert Dennis (Bob) Wilson resides in Sacramento, CA with his wife, Joyce, and 2 very energetic, dapple long-haired dachshunds. They have 4 married children and 5 grandsons, scattered from coast to coast. Besides writing novels, Bob is a singer-songwriter and a scroll saw artist. He works full time telecommuting from home as a programmer/Report Designer for an international transportation corporation. Before meeting the love of his life, Bob actually received a BABE degree in college: that is, a "Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Education" from Washington Bible College, Lanham, MD. He has worked in various support roles for churches, missions, and para-church organizations. Bob continues to have an active role in multiple local churches. Bob also has published a Spiritual Warfare fantasy series, “The Dragon’s Back Trilogy”. The first two volumes, "THE POISON OF THORNS" and “MY BROTHER’S KEEPER” are available in both e-book and paperback formats. He is currently working on the end of this trilogy, “SHOSHANNA’S SONG”. I really enjoyed this book. I found myself getting lost in the story and taking on the role of the unknown extra character in the background. I really like the characters and could easy identify with them. The storyline was well developed and believable. The story was riveting and the adventure was constantly building. End-times students will find this book a must read.

The only part I did not like about the book was it ended. I can hardly wait for the next installment of "Earth - The Arena" series.

I highly recommend this book.

What if scientists were able to open a doorway to another dimension - specifically the realm of demons? This is the premise behind Earth The Arena - the Players. (Book 1 in a series) We are introduced to Professor Horace Thompson (affectionately known as `Doc') who has made it his life's work to investigate psychic phenomenon and prove the existence of telepathic powers. During his experiments, he actually open a gateway to demonic forces (a.k.a. Satan and his cohorts) who appear as amiable `Teachers'. On the surface, their only wish is to help mankind better itself. Two of Doc's young protégés, David and Sashi, become conduits for Pedagog and his demonic hosts, ushering in the end times complete with a rapture of the saints.

The storyline was quite intriguing and had me curious to read more. As well, R.D. Wilson's writing style is that of a metaphoric master and is quite beautiful. The figurative language literally flows like poetic torrents over a waterfall of imagery. (My feeble attempt at emulation ...) Sometimes, however, the story itself gets lost in the metaphors and one has to stop and reread just to make sense of what is actually taking place. Not that I don't like wonderful description - I do, but perhaps there is something to be said for `too much of a good thing'.

Figurative language aside, there were other aspects of the book that were a bit of a paradox. There are some very long `scientific' explanations that appear occasionally. It is all well and good to create a theory about how the spiritual dimension operates, but to have it described in textbook detail was, well ... boring. These expository sections slowed the story down, and were probably more than I needed to know. Just keep the story moving forward, please!

I thought it was pretty cool! You've got a scientist working with psychic phenomenon trying to test his little machine with his assistants when they open a gateway! The creature in the gateway says "Oh hey what's up, we totally come in peace, and not like in that movie Mars Attacks where the aliens say We come in peace and then start shooting.. no no.. we're totally cool. It's just... well... there is this other guy.. we don't like him and... well if you're not busy.. maybe we could team up and destroy that common enemy that I just told you about." It's about science, but it's also about faith, which are two topics that are difficult to write about together, but he pulls it off well. I don't like to spoil books, but the action starts soon after the lovely trusting creature appears. It's filled with lots of metaphors and the reading flows so smoothly I couldn't believe how fast I finished it. There are some places in the story where it gets hard to pay attention, like when the scientist is explaining theories of dimensions, but it never put me to sleep. I'm definitely going to read the next book in the series.

This is a thrilling ride! The world changes when Horace Thompson hooks up his two helpers, David and Sashi, to the 'PAX' machine. Both have ESP capabilities and when hooked up to the machine, a door is openedthat wasn't even known to exist! Pedadog is what, or should I say who, comes through that door. He claims to be there to help humans but there is a common enemy that must be delt with first. The ride starts here and you won't put this book down.
The author does a wonderful job of making the characters real. I honestly felt like I was in the story along with them. The story also makes you think about beliefs and possibilities. There is a unique point of view and story here that I won't do 'spoilers' on but if you like SciFi, you will enjoy this book.
I rate this a 5/5. I can't wait to read the next 'chapter' in this story!

Thank you to the author for the review copy of this book. I recieved this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Absolutely amazing story that I couldn't put down! In a year when Awakening and Armageddon go hand in hand... this book unfolds a story that leaves nothing to the imagination. Well thought out characters, scientific exploration, alien encounters, ancient civilizations, and a little Spiritual intervention in the Biblical sense... are just some of what the reader will find in store for them.

Doc who has his close encounter years before is given a path to follow in order to fulfill his destiny. With Bev, his devoted wife and colleague by his side, they embark on finding a group of "right" people to work on this project with them. Funded by unknown supporters, the ETA/PAX program is unveiled with David, an Electronic Engineer and Sashi, the daughter of a fellow Professor playing key rolls. Their success in an experiment to connect on a physic level not only opens a door to fame, but opens a door to Other worldly beings who have been trying to contact us for years. But are these beings Good or Evil? As there is another force also living and communicating with humans who considers these beings Evil and will stop at nothing to thwart the mission to spread Peace. Action packed and full of twists this story will keep you in its grips until the very end! Bring on Book 2!

This is a definite must read for anyone loving Paranormal Sci-fi thrillers. A real who done it, that will have you questioning the very faith of the world we know!
