Jenny Lynn is a fresh, new voice in the romance genre and definitely an author to watch. Her writing is captivating, entertaining, emotional and easy to read and the characters were clearly defined, complex and vivid, with just enough vulnerability that had me cheering them on as the relationship grew. I appreciate the author's discernment in developing Archer's character by explaining what a dog he was rather than spelling it all out for the reader to wade through. For me as a reader, there’s nothing worse than having to read the details of a hero's indiscriminate sexual exploits, and then expecting me to like him, much less fall in love with him. Ugh! With the loss he suffered and his despicable father, Asher ended up being very easy to love, as did Corinne, with her pure heart, touch of innocence, inner strength and determination as she pursued her dream. And together they were phenomenal! I could easily see this book being the start of a series, because there were several other characters who had promise and were intriguing, and I wasn’t ready to let any of them go by the end of the book. Take a chance on Jenny Lynn by reading this book, and then keep your eye on her. I anticipate many more great books from her!
I loved this romantic romance. It was full of emotion and had me smiling while I was reading. Until Corinne was betrayed by a supposed friend, Tyler and broke her and Asher up. I was very sad for her because Archer would not let her explain what happened. She was embarrassed by his father and him while at a charity function and it caused a sensational scandal. She had the support of her mother, her sister and her best friend and roommate Nancy. Corinne wrote a letter to Archer explaining everything. He read it and found that she said she was falling in love with him. It was then he realized he was in love with her too. They reunited at her first concert and then they played a duet "Something Stupid" by Nancy and Frank Sinatra. f listened to the song on YouTube and found it was simple and heartfelt. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
Corinne has finally got her break and been discovered after years of hard work. However in order to finally make it big she has to pretend to be Archer's girlfriend to repair his image. What starts out as fake becomes real very quickly.
Archer started off cocky and arrogant in pretty much everything but this is very much a mask to hide his vulnerability. As he lets this slip he does grow on you. Corinne is so sweet and kind that you can't help but worry that the music industry is going to eat her up and spit her back out again.
This was a good book, full of music, contradictions and being true to yourself. Great writing and characters that draw you into their story.

A little idealistic but it works. We need these kinds of stories every once in a while , just to go on. And Jenny Lynn gave us a good one. Yes, there were editing and grammar oversights but they did not distract from the story. I, personally don't care for Rocker stories, too much ego but Ms. Lynn did a good job of balancing things out. I hope she continues with her presenting such feelings honestly.
This was a chosen read for a review trade.
