Piper Jackson has inherited her Aunts restaurant which is failing miserably due to the debt she inherited along with it. Owning a restaurant has always been Pipers dream much to her socialite parents dismay. They are willing to do anything to see Piper fail and have her move back to New Orleans to find a suitable husband. Piper has other plans and with the help of her two new hot partners, things are sure to heat up in and out of the kitchen.
Owen Lamb and Wyatt Lawless are business partners who share lots of things including women. Each has a past equally as bad as the other. Owen is in hiding from a gang who killed his entire family. Now an old threat is coming back to haunt him and he's not letting them take away anyone he loves again. Wyatt is being blackmailed by someone who is threatening to blow his life apart due to a huge secret Wyatt has been keeping. His only choice is to trust Owen and Piper.
Each has their own secret. Together though can Piper, Wyatt and Owen save each other and make a relationship other might not except work.
I really liked this book. This is the second book I've read in the Playing For Love Series by Tara Crescent. There are three books in the series so far. Each can be read as a standalone. I really loved Piper. She's quirky and funny when she's not letting her parents try to control her. She's terrified to stand up to them but is surrounded by a group of friends that are a better family to and for her. Owen and Wyatt have been best friends forever and each is equally as charming as the other. It was good to see the characters from the first book in this book and catch up with them. I've somehow missed the second book but the characters from it are also in the book and I got a little lost trying to understand some of the things about them mentioned in his book.
If you enjoy a good menage book you will love Playing For Piper. Tara Crescent has done a great job writing this book and characters you will fall in love with. I can't wait to read the next book in the series Wagering on Wendy.
Overall, I've found Tara Crescent's work to be real and well worth Anyone's time and money. She's definitely one to try out if you're looking for a HEA with a bit of a twist!
Enter Owen and Wyatt.
These two restaurant gurus know what it takes to turn a restaurant around and while they start looking into Piper's restaurant as a favor to a friend, they can't stop thinking about how fiery she is. Things start heating up between them, but external forces threaten to tear them apart.
Will Piper be able to stand up to her parents and finally cut the apron strings?
Will the past come back to haunt them?
Will the trio be able to make a menage work even though outsiders might not understand the relationship?
I love Tara's books and this was my favorite so far (aside from The Audition!). Playing With Piper is funny, interesting, and fast paced. It's steamy and cute and I seriously just wanted to hug Piper. She's not perfect, but she tries REALLY hard, and she's brave. She was fun to read about and I really read this cover to cover. You don't have to read the other books in the series to enjoy this one, although it helps. My favorite thing about this book was how no matter what happened, Piper pushed forward and persevered. It was a great reminder to go after your dreams no matter how big they are!
