Here are a couple of teasers for ya :)
Slapping my hands on the table, I give Amy an emphatic look. "We've got less than a year before we graduate and I don't want to waste it. I'm not leaving this school without giving it my best shot."
"It won't be your best shot. It'll be a looooong shot."
I ignore her and continue with my rousing speech.
"I want to know what it feels like to walk down the hall holding the hand of a boyfriend just like that. I want to stop loitering on the sidelines of life and for once be front and center of the action." I sigh and point behind me. "I want to be kissed by that piece of hotness."
"Tori. I get it, okay? You've liked him forever, but you're not his people. He's not going to fall in love with you."
"Yes, he is." I nod. "He just doesn't know it yet."
Amy rolls her eyes, but I can see her lips twitching. "I don't want to see you get hurt. If you pull this off it will be a miracle."
"Well, I believe in miracles, so..."
I press my lips together to hide my smile. "You sure you want to join this world?"
Her eyes glance over mine before she dips her head and whispers, "I have to, Colt. It's the only way I'm going to get what I want."
The words send a chill through me. I don't know why. Maybe it's the way she whispered them...or maybe it's the fact I'm worried she'll get hurt if the guy she wants doesn't actually want her back.

With it being their senior year, Tori has come up with a plan to make Colt fall for her under the guise of liking one of his teammates. At first he turns her down, but after some consideration he agrees to help but only in secret. They start spending time in the meadow that they frequented when they were younger, leading to hanging out at his place and watching games.
After some hints about changing her wardrobe, the guys start to take notice of what she hides underneath her homemade tye-die flowy dresses she wears. Which in turns makes Colt realize that he has feelings and/or thoughts about her that he tries to ignore due to her being “weird”.
After Colt is injured in a game, Tori shows up at his house the next day to check on him. They start talking about a paper he has to write and it comes out that he has dyslexia and the letters get mixed up. Deciding to put Operation Fall for Tori on hold, she comes up with a solution to the problem. The next day, she goes back over to his house with research to show him that a lot of famous people have suffered from dyslexia and found ways to overcome it. So now instead of him teaching her, she teaches him.
Still struggling with his feelings for Tori, Colt tells her she is ready and she doesn’t need his help anymore. So she decides it’s time to “man up” and tell Colt that he is the one she likes so she dresses up to go to a party. Come to find out the whole football team skipped out on going due to a rival school attending. Things don’t turn out well for Tori and she is found in a bad position.
Oh, I so want to say more, but I think it’s time you went and picked up The Playmaker and read it for yourself.
Tori Lomax is the daughter of two extremely eccentric parents, who don’t frown upon letting their freak flag fly. This kind of outlook, while making her her own original self, has planted her firmly outside the cool crowd in which her crush Colt Burgess resides. With their mothers instant friendship their childhood was plagued with play dates between them and their siblings. But everyone grows up and, as you can imagine, go their own ways. Colt’s love of football places him firmly in the higher levels of popularity, outside of Tori’s own comfort zone. What’s a girl to do when she’s hoping to catch the eye of an old friend and long-time crush? Why, out play him of course!
Tune in to see where this contemporary high school football star meets quirky outsider romance takes you. Super cute, so don’t miss out!
I really enjoyed this story. It is told in alternating points of view and was a light, funny, and sweet read. It was a fast read as well, maybe four hours or so. It had a little teen angst, but nothing major, and it didn’t drag on forever. I loved Colt and Tori, as well as Tori’s best friend, Amy (who I hope will be landing her own player in a later book) and the rest of the players that are introduced.
Although the game of football is not a huge part of the story, there is a scene or two from Colt’s point of view, where we get to watch a few plays take place. I loved reading these scenes. The author did a really good job of writing accurate details of the game and plays, which she credits to her brother. As a huge football fan, nothing frustrates me more than reading a book about a football player that is completely inaccurate about the sport. I appreciate when an author takes the time to make it right.
I’d recommend this book to those who enjoy a good YA story. There isn’t anything really new or different about this story, but it is a fun book and very enjoyable.
I thought this was a wonderful YA romance, it's sweet, and maybe a little silly, but it does have ,
teenage angst, and a happily ever after. Tori and Colt are pretty typical teenagers, in my opinion. They find out that in the end, it really is their feelings that matter, and not the judgements of their social group. I highly recommend this book, I thought it was fantastic!

Meet Tori Lormax, the quirkiest, crazy hippie style girl in the school. And this girl is up for a misión. To make her last year in high school the most memorable, she is determined to move from the sidelines and enter the big crowds. Why? To get the guy she wants, Colt Burgess.
To make her plan work, she will try to win his heart by pretending to want someone from his team. The more time they spend together coaching her to fit into the ‘popular’ world, the sooner Colt will realise and see her.
But will changing who she is to become someone she knows she isn’t really make Colt see her ?
Colt is a great football runner, he loves the sport and hopes to one day play in college. Despite the lack of his parents’ support, he is determine to prove that he can play in his future. The problem is if he doesn’t get his grades up he will get benched. He is struggling to keep his grades up, he doesn’t need any distraction. Worse now that Tori, the weirdest girl he knows wants lessons on how to be ‘popular’ and try to get a teammate to notice her.
He knows she doesn’t fit in to his world but he will just for the fun of it.
But what will happen if they spend more time together ? Can two people from different worlds be together ?
This book really had me thinking from the start. Here we have a girl who wants a guy and in her mind, the way to get his attention is to become like those girl, change who she is to be like that. To get noticed, to be in their group.
It had me thinking because this is real. There are girls out there who will want to change just to be noticed by someone.
It’s sad to see that girls will allow this to happen, to change their identity to be with someone. But this book really changed that perspective. It tells how we shouldn’t change who we are or what we like to be with someone.
Before we can love someone, we need to learn to love ourselves, who we are. And I believe this story really delivers a good message to readers on how we can be original and still have a great future
Absolutely loved Tori’s and Colt’s story, while there were moments of confusion and shame, there is moments of love and laughter. Which is the reality of things.
Can’t wait to read about Mack’s conquest in the next book. And hopefully read Tori’s best friend’s love story later on.
Definitely worth starting this series!
In the spirit of Drive Me Crazy, She's All That and Varsity Blues comes this fun loving enjoyable easy read.
Tori Lomax doesn't want to waste her senior year longing after the guy she's been in love with for 10 years. No, she wants to put Operation Fall For Tori in action and get him to return her feelings.
Tori begs Colt to assist in her plan to make the jock fall for her nerdy self. Help her be the type of girl that a star football player would want.
Colt feels bad for her, seeing they were once friends, and helps her become the type of girl that would attract Mack, the teams Quarterback and Captain.
But little does Colt know, that Operation Fall For Tori has Colt as the designated target and not Mack.
And the fun begins!
This book was so fun to read. I loved it and would recommend it to everyone.
Jordan Ford is a new author and her 'A Big Play Novel' books will become a much loved series featuring High School Football and Young Love.
The Playmaker is due for release in March, with the second The Red Zone due in April 2016.
Put this on you TBR list and pre-order when you can!!!! Oh and Colt Burgess has definitely made my personal #bookboyfriend list!
Tori is so very lovely, you can't help but fall in love with her. I instantly connected with this sweet and quirky girl. Maybe because she reminds me of a childhoodfriend but mostly because she is so openhearted and brave and amazing, my heart rooted for her from page one.
Her girlfriend Amy expressed how I feel: „I love that you were brave enough to try, sweetie.“
Amy is a great friend and Tori couldn't wish for a better BFF. She didn't agree with everything Tori did, to reach her goal, but she always had her back.
With Colt I felt his struggles, why it was so hard for him to jump over the so called social boundaries and I couldn't be mad at him for long, because I saw the sweet boy beneath the football player.
To witness him slowly falling for Pixie Girl made my heart melt – it was sweet and funny and so awwww ♡
„...when did I go from avoid Tori at all costs to I kind of like having her around?“
His friend Finn was the best and I wanted to hug him more than once! He was just the friend Colt needed to get his head straight.
It's not wrong to step out of your comfort zone and to try something new and I admire Tori for being brave enough and for not giving up.
„My heart is convinced that I've found my person, and that feeling is only getting stronger the more time I spend with him.“
Of course I did not want her to change, I loved her from the beginning but I could understand why she did it and in the end she stood up for who she really was.
I'm so glad this book is the beginning of a series of standalones because I already want more and can't wait for the next book.
One of my fav scenes is the kissing scence...awww...made my heart race and gave me all kinds of butterflies ♡
