Gave the web demo of this a shot. Seemed amusing but when I found the matching levels were timed I thought, "too bad. I don't like timed match-3 games". Decided to play another level or two before abandoning it.
Two and a half hours later... "Hey, I'd better buy this!". It's Just That Good.
It's no Puzzle Quest. The story elements are marginal, no RPG stuff. But the match-3 game is unlike anything I've tried before. You rarely feel stuck, looking for a move. You might have severe time pressure when you get near the end of a puzzle but you always know what you need to do - you just might not be able to do it fast enough this time. But 2nd efforts are much easier as you know the layout of the "maze" and can focus on the best way to progress.
The game also includes hidden-object games and find-the-difference-between-the-picture games. Meh. They break up a series a match-3 levels and are a good place to quit the game and start up again, refreshed, the next day.
I don't see a lot of replayability but the game is good and long and it's not expensive so it's a good value.
BTW, due to the rules of this match-3 game if it wasn't timed there'd be zero challenge.
