Worth it for some triggers?

I bought this because I heard the over the top praise the the PS3 triggers are getting from gamers. I bought this because it was the only one I found that ships in the US.

The triggers take some time to get use to, but they do feel better then the regular style of the L2/R2 buttons. The triggers however might come off in the middle of a intense gun battle. I accidently hit the triggers from the bottom of the controller and it went flying in the air. Normal use of the controller should not cause them to fly off though. Depends on how you play as a gamer.

The armor is just pointless. It makes the middle buttons difficult to press and doesn't go well.

I would like to see this product without the metal armor at a cheaper price. I pretty much paid $10 for 2 5 cent trigger peices. You may feel kind of dumb if you do the same. Just depends if you have that extra money you want to throw away for a controller upgrade.

This Is A Great Product, Trigger Grips Help A Lot! & The Armor Just Looks Cool. The Start & Select Buttons Are A Little Harder To Push With The Armor On. However It Is Not An Inconvenience (I Only Noticed & Thought Nothing More Of It).

However One Thing Everyone Should Be Aware Of - The Controller Will Not Fit Most Chargers (Charging Hubs ECT.) With The Armor On (I Had The Pelican Recharging Station For Two Controllers Which Is The Exact Same Design As The Energizer One - Will Not Fit With Armor On It). If You Want To Charge The Controllers With The Armor On (Which I Did) The One Charging Station That I Have Found So Far That Works With The Armor On Is The T-X3 Charge Hub for PS3 by Hercules.

All In All I Like The Product & Plan On Buying Two More.

Armour is pointless, trigger extenders are great

The "armour" is just a decent-looking piece of aluminum that halfway clips onto the PS3 controller. It isn't really even attached. I left it on for about 5 minutes, it makes the Select and Start buttons hard to press.

The trigger extenders are very nice, they seem to be just about the right size and make using the L2 and R2 triggers for games that use them extensively like GTA IV much easier on my fingers. They click onto the existing triggers pretty securely but can fall off if you drop the controller. They could be glued on if that becomes a problem.

So $10 for two little 5 cent pieces of plastic is pretty steep, but you know what, it's worth it. The triggers are the worst part of the PS3 controller.

The trigger add-ons are wonderful. I can't tell you enough about how much of a difference they made for me. The PS3 controller's L2 and R2 buttons were probably the worst button designs ever. I disliked them more then the stupid gamecube's controller buttons. When I attached the trigger add-ons it made the controller feel like it should of been made. The armor is ok but I think the controller looks better without it. These are a must have if you like shooter games because it just feels so weird shooting with the L1 and R1 buttons. Also, I have seen in other reviews that some people are having problems with their triggers popping off. I have not had this problem. I play A LOT of Call of Duty 4 and they haven't popped off. Maybe it's just a faulty batch that the company made and unfortunately some people bought them. I would contact the company and see if they would send replacements.

The armor is completely worthless, it doesn't even fit right (it falls off if you hold the controller upside down), and is a lame excuse for charging $10 for two little pieces of plastic. Besides, what kind of armor covers 20% of what it's supposed to be protecting? The triggers however, are absolutely essential for the DualShock controller. I could never go back to not using them. They add length to the controller so it no longer feels like it was built for a 10 year old's hands (still not as comfortable as the 360 controller but vastly improved). They are snug and don't fall off during intense gaming. Most importantly of course, they keep your fingers from slipping off the bottom. Couple these with a rubber skin you can find on Amazon or at Gamestop, and the DualShock 3 is significantly more comfortable. I will buy them for all of my controllers going forward or until Sony figures out how bad their "trigger" design is.

I think anyone can guess by looking at pictures that the armor is useless. It only protects the least vulnerable part of the controller. It's like putting a border fence on the moon, makes no sense. It does provide a mildly interesting two tone color scheme.
The only reason anyone would buy this is the trigger extenders and they are pretty cool. Maybe not $10 cool but it depends on how into your PS3 you are. They take a few minutes to get used to but so did the regular triggers. Once you get used to them I think they feel better than the regular triggers. I feel ambivalent about this purchase. The triggers are cool but I would have rather paid half the price and not gotten the armor.

Great Trigger Grips

I bought this item only for the trigger grips. They are much more comfortable then the regular triggers. I always found the triggers on the sixaxis/dualshock3 controller to be too small and uncomfortable. Especially for racing games which require more accuracy while pushing down for braking and accelerating. With these on, it's like a whole new controller. The "armor" that comes with the grips is pretty useless. The only service i think it provides is that while you have the armor on, you won't accidently push the start/select/PS button.

I purchased this package for the trigger extenders that are included - the metal wrap for the controller is somewhat pointless.

The pieces simply snap on to the existing buttons and provide more travel due to the extended length. I really can tell a difference when playing racing games as I can control the throttle and brakes with more precision.

They are a bit awkward at first to get used to if you have been playing with the regular controllers, but I have learned to love them.

I am using them on both the Dual Shock 3 controller as well as the original Sixaxis.
