Okay, these things are crazy expensive. As someone who uses plastic grocery bags for garbage bags in the kitchen, I hate the cost of OEM Diaper Genie stuff. But it works. Take it from someone who fudged it with the first kid, and used a half-broken diaper pail with plastic grocery bags for 2.5 years with our first kid... the extra cost is worth it. There's pretty much no diaper-y smell unless you're opening the lid to put in newly soiled stuff.
I'm going to try to justify the cost by amortizing it over the 18 years the kid will live with us...

I think my bigger complaints are with the diaper genie itself, more than these refills, but this product serves it's purpose - it's a refill for the diaper genie. There's a small black line that is supposed to warn you when you're approaching the end, but for some reason, I never see it I until I drop that first diaper into the pail and whoosh - there goes the refill. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for that first diaper to weigh down the bag enough for it to get pulled to the bottom of the pail - in which case, the small starts to leach out. You will quickly know when that happens!

You're gonna laugh!! My baby is 14, so I don't need this for him. We got our first dog a few years ago. He is the most amazing, smart, loving, beautiful lab/retriever you could ever ask for; BUT, his poop smells so bad, it's painful! The only place we can dispose of "man's best friend's" poop, is in the garbage can - in our garage. Trust me when I tell you the smell of one "offering" is hair curling, eye watering, dry heaving, fun. Imagine a weeks worth! I bought a diaper genie, these liners, and problem isn't solved on hot weeks; but, all other days/weeks it works like a charm. I have this product on auto ship, so I automatically get them once a month. That's how necessary they are at our house.

I buy these refills for our Diaper Genie Elite Diaper Disposal Pail with Refill, 270-Count. They fit in the pail well and do what they are designed to do. My only suggestion for improvement would be to have the end of the bags be connected to the plastic ring somehow. I dislike when I get towards the end of the pack and I throw a diaper in and the whole bag falls into the pail. I feel so wasteful having to cut the life of a bag short because it won't stay in the ring. Sometimes I'll cut off the filled portion and the remaining bag isn't quite long enough and I end up pulling the whole rest of it out. If it was glued in there somehow, then I could use up every last inch of the bags without wasting any.

One tip I've seen people mention that I am going to reiterate is how to get more out of your bags. When it's time to empty, I push down whatever diapers are in the pail and squeeze out the extra air. I keep doing this until I have a compact air-free package of dirty diapers and then I cut the whole load off and tie it up. This will save you a lot of bag length. Try it next time and check out the difference between where you would have had to cut before and where you ended up cutting after pushing the air out. This technique will prolong the bags.

These refills work to keep the poop smell in, and I guess that's pretty much all I'm looking for here. With one exception, which is why I've only give 4 stars. They really should somehow let you know when you're almost out of bag so you can continue to use the end vs being left with too little bag to use and having no choice but to waste it. I will say, though, that this is far superior to the cheaper off-brand version also sold on Amazon. The design for the off-brand bags allowed more bag to come out with each diaper inserted, resulting in SO much waste. The Playtex refills let you really stuff the diapers in, so you're wasting as little as possible.

I like the bags and that you can select the length of the bags. I just wish they would contain the smell better while in the diaper genie. It's not bad while the pail is closed but get the smell as soon as you open it. Also I wish the black stripe that warns you that it is almost gone would be longer. Or if a had a line not to pull after so that you could get use of as much as you can. I know once I pulled saw the black strip and though I could get the length of the pail but that was not the case. The rest came out and was unable to use a large chuck that could of probably fit 10 diapers or so. But aside from that it is easy to use and it does the job.

The Diaper genie is the hidden gem of baby tools... making one of the unpleasant tasks of parenting a bit less disgusting. That said, the diaper genie needs these bad boys to work. Well, no complaints here. These fit well and do the job. Though mundane and simple in construction these do stand-out for one thing... their toughness. they could give you thin plastic crap but instead chose to continue using nice thick, durable plastic. For that we will continue to buy name-brand. I suppose you could think of some other uses for these as well... moving or wrapping something long/skinny to keep dust-free... though we have only used them for their intended purpose thus far.

Truthfully, Diaper Genie's are just not that necessary. A good old garbage pail works just fine, unless you are a weirdo who doesn't take their garbage out at least on a weekly basis. None the less, if you are a first time mom like me, you probably bought or registered for one of these pails.

I keep the Genie in my bedroom and use a shopping bag in her area, hung on a cabinet door. Its sheer laziness that I use this to begin with, but I bought the thing so might as well use it.

I was a little saddened to only get 3-4 uses out of a refill before it was dunzo. This is using size 1 & 2 diapers. It does keep the smell in and I've never had a problem with that, even going almost 2 weeks without a change since its not used too often. I would say 15% of my daughter's dirty diapers go in here.

I did find that Amazon was in fact cheaper than store brand on this bc of Subscribe & Save. If you have coupons or an app for store brand savings, it would be a better deal to use those.

It is a sin how much Playtex charges for a roll of plastic film that is cheaper to produce than the packaging it comes in.

The product works well, by simple design that was probably bought off of it's inventor for a few thousand dollars... but perhaps equally innovative is NC Moore's (reviewer) idea of just snipping the bottom knot, emptying the bag, and then re-knotting to VASTLY extend the life of each $6 roll of fused .25ml drop cloth they call a "refill".

Major design flaw is in the difficulty in which the roll starts from the packaging. This needs to be improved, as a bad start/ not being able to find the end means a destroyed refill.

I'd send a complaint to Playtex, but I'm sure theyre all busy dreaming up a way to sell $30 sanitary napkins or something truly groundbreaking..

Will be buying an off-brand next time on principle alone.

This product works great with our Diaper Genie 01210 Essentials Diaper Disposal System. It is easy to refill. It's nice that you can just tie off the end whenever you are ready to take out the trash. We have one child; he is 6 weeks old and goes through 8-10 diapers a day. One of these refills lasts us about 10 days (meaning the pack of 3 is about a one month supply). I have no complaints about the product itself or the functionality; however, I do think it is a little expensive. $19 a month seems crazy to spend on just the plastic bags I throw diapers in. I will be looking for a cheaper alternative, but like I said I am happy with the product itself.
