Warning just like my review for the first book.....this is not a book for the faint of heart. If you like hearts and flowers and alphas with a swoony side.....don't read.
If you like crazy WTFFFFFF moments the entire time you are immersed in a book.....then have it. Have at it hard.
My heart hurt so bad for Callie throughout this book.....which wasn't much different from book one....but man....Stasia leaves no possibility until THE VERY FREAKING END for her to find happiness.
This book will keep you enraptured from the very beginning...and if you are a sadistic reader like me....you are scheming your own ways for her to get her payback on life. Believe me, I wanted to reach into my Kindle and give her some tips to take out those who continued to wrong her in so many ways.
This two book duality does end with and epic HEA...but is sure is one memorable fight for it to happen.
It's a journey well worth taking with Stasia and her characters....if dark is how you like your reads...you'll have no regrets readers. No. Regrets.
Please Me is the conclusion to Crush Me and is a much more detailed book, with more depth and intrigue. The writing of this author is really very good and she gets her story over so well and her characters are really fascinating to read.
So after the ending in the last book, Callie is determined to be a stronger person and not ever be taken advantage of again by any man. Her aim is to take power over men in love and war and none of them will be allowed to crack that hardened shell she has wrapped around her heart. But the man who caused all her pain will not leave her alone without a fight, and once again she finds herself backed into a corner and having doubts about her life and how she is going to put it back together. Fear once again is clutching at her heart and she realises she needs a game plan and fast.
This book is really in depth and is a bit like a really good spy novel; lots of secrets, lots of intrigue. It gets your blood flowing through your veins at a fast pace to keep up with everything that poor Callie has to deal with, and boy she deals with plenty. You can't help but feel for her - although there were times I had doubts about her character and was asking myself why on earth would she do the things she was doing; it was quite frustrating at times.
We get re - acquainted with the nasty evil Gentry - whom we don't get the pleasure of so much in this book; is it wrong of me that I actually missed him and his sick twisted mind? but what we do get is plenty of the delectable gorgeous Jackson and that in itself is reward enough for a book that kept me hooked all the way through. It gave me a roller coaster ride of emotions that made my heart skip a beat many a time, and just delivered the whole package, a compliment to the story. I loved both books and I can't recommend them enough. Brilliant !!!
The rest of the review contains some spoilers:)
The story begins with Callie dancing in a club. She's trying to forget that her would has just shattered. She has lost everything, Charlie, Jackson, and her body was taken without her consent by the monster Gentry. She doesn't care anymore. What surprises her the most is that when she finds her conquest for the night she becomes violent and needing to inflict pain to get off. That's her wake up call.
I loved how Callie and her sister become closer and that her sister finally finds out what happened to Callie, when they went home to see their parents. She was horrified. After that she understood Callie more and their relationship got better.
Ah Jackson I absolutely love his character. Sexy smart the whole works!! I won't give anything away about their reunion and relationship but it is hot!
This was a great conclusion to "Crush Me" and Gentry definitely gets what's coming to him.
I received an ARC of this story from the author and for my honest opinion of the novel.
