Please Not Again!: A Contemporary Novel That Deeply Touches Us In The Corona Days: COVID-19 Is a Great Example to How Being Romantic Might Unintentionally Influence Our Lives Forever … Kindle Edition
'Wise, at times wickedly funny, and always entertaining, this story packs a wallop of insights while providing one of the more humorous views of the coupling rituals'. - Grady Harp, Hall of fame Amazon reviewer
They were a young and ambitious couple, but the circumstances changed their life forever.
A young New York couple are trying hard to rise a family in the complex and fast paced modern era.
Even when stressful social and personal complications stand in their way, they push themselves to the limit, and do anything in order to achieve the goals that life dictates without giving any consideration to where the circumstances might take them.
When everything seems to be going just right, some ‘minor' events change life as we all know it.
In this bitingly humorous novel, Eli Reuven presents a fresh perspective of couplehood and places in front of us ’the mirror of truth’ which confronts us with our weaknesses and our hidden desires.
From the Author
I firmly believe in 'Love thy neighbor' and in engaging in creative activities.
During long hours of business traveling in my daily life or the endless white nights my wife and I stayed up in shifts taking care of our children, feeding and diapering, I thought about intimate moments in our family life and in human life in general. These thoughts inspired me to write this not-so-politically-correct novel Please Not Again!

The story begins with a hapless modern Adam trudging after his wife in the freezing New York winter as they search for a new home to satisfy her pregnancy-induced nesting instinct. He's perfectly happy in their windowless basement apartment, but, as he muses
"Imagine what would happen if we had to rely on healthy male logic alone. How far would humanity have gotten? I’m willing to bet you that Adam would still be wandering in the Garden of Eden, enjoying himself undisturbed in paradise, eating whatever he felt like whenever he felt like it, taking afternoon naps without having to account for it to anyone (and certainly not to Eve), scratching his armpits, never shaving, never running off to work, and never taking care of any babies. The good life. The heart’s desire of every man."
Right up to the very end, Adam, doesn't really 'get' what Eve wants but he does his best to give it to her anyway, sometimes with hilarious results. The book's wisdom is slyly revealed to us, as the author contrasts Adam's keen observation of human foibles with his goodhearted, almost naive, efforts to cope while keeping his wife, his boss and his sexy Brazilian bestie happy.
I laughed all the way to the end.
humanity's weaknesses in a sophisticated way, and indeed 'not so politically
correct' as he claims. As a husband and father I can definitely understand
what it takes to raise a family in the modern era and at the same time keep
everyone happy. Really enjoyable read!
