I've read the first two volumes and they are great. This one is better if for no other reason then that it has the biographies of Alexander and Caesar. They start the book and I cannot wait to read them. Plutarch is witty, chatty, and unable to ignore a gossipy tid-bit. You'll enjoy this and the price is free!

Amazing classic. Dr. Rufus Fears uses it extensively to develop his ancient biographies in the Great Courses Series with The Learning Co.. I recommend all his courses highly, and a perfect introduction to Plutarch. They are available on Amazon.

An excellent book. My review does not reflect on Plutarch, but on the Kindle formatting. While the first two (free) volumes were well-edited, this third volume was not. Page numbers from the hard-copy book are littered throughout in brackets, and names with Greek letter combinations not well-translated to English are misspelled. The errors are not so egregious as to prevent reading and understanding this classic, but it seems senseless to me to thoroughly edit the first two volumes, yet leave the third untouched. Plutarch tends to tangle his pronouns, so that following his train of thought is sometimes challenging without the additional work of correcting the text.

The translation of Plutarch's biographies is readable and fine enough. It is the e-book presentation that gives difficulties. A table of contents would be most useufull as there is no easy way to negotiate the content from biography to giography. Similarly, finding the notes for any given biography or going back to refer to them is a challenge in this edition. At the price, however, complaining seems asking perhaps too much.
