About the Author
Tom Spence is a pastor on the frontlines of ministry in our own nation. His frontier is composed of people struggling to make it without God and who have little taste for the bread of life because they have never really trusted God. Having served two decades as a U.S. Marine Corps officer, as an addictions treatment counselor, as a consultant and trainer, and as a newspaper manager, Tom has many insights into the human dynamic, especially with those struggling to come to grips with the difficulties of this world. Tom typically begins a new challenge with the words, "Did anyone warn you about me?" Tom is very direct. As he puts it, "I was accused of being tactful twice in my life, but I was acquitted on both counts." Ministry is too important to sugar coat it. Speaking the truth in love requires both love and truth and neither may be diluted. Tom is husband, father, grandfather, pastor, author, and occasional poet. He resides in Burns Flat, Oklahoma and often reminds anyone who will listen that the town traffic light is working and we get all three colors just like the big towns.
