Basically all the problems from this thing are caused by someone not taking the time to grind another 32nd of an inch of metal off.
The letter opener and string cutter are not sharp, which you can fix in 2 minutes at home with a chainsaw file.
The screwdrivers are all too wide, I noticed the screw on my sunglasses was getting loose, so I was like "well, I can put this screwdriver on my new Pocket Monkey too good use! And then I found out that all of the screwdrivers are indeed to thick to fit into a smaller screw, which can be fixed by filing away some of the metal. So they are too thick to fit into small screws, but too narrow to use on larger screws without bending.
The cell-phone stand works, except that it scratches your credit card up, so if you used it repeatedly I could see it ruining your credit card.
The bottle opener works well, and I suppose the headphone cord wrap would work well if I ever had a use for that.
I honestly haven't had a chance to try to use the wrenches, though I see no reason why they wouldn't work, other than being a little awkward.
Still looking for the perfect pocket tool, was wanting something TSA compliant, but still had a bottle opener and letter opener. Guess I'll keep looking.
I got my pocket monkey today.
The letter opener and the fruit peeler wasnt sharp...
Whether that be because of legal issues regardin the postal service OR just a company policy I have no idea.
Not a big deal since both can be sharpened usin a sharpenin rod.
The cell-a-phone kickstand doesnt work for me...
Either because the shoppers card I used it with wasnt sturdy enough AND / OR because my ZTE Sonata 3 phone was too big / heavy.
AGAIN...Not an issue since I dont normaly watch videos on my phone anyways.
Aint had a chance to try out the other features so Ill update this review after Ive tried them out.
UPDATE 04-03-2017 4PM
I managed to sharpen the letter opener edge to a degree but had to use my dremel to do it as my sharpenin rod
and even a whetstone was doin more dullin of the edge than anything else...
Even so I still couldnt open a letter without rippin.
I tested the cell-a-phone stand again usin my bank card this time.
Apparently the problem lies in my phone bein too big for this purpose.
I may also have damaged my bank card.
The ruler edge which can be used as a scraper also makes a decent striker for my coghlan magnesium fire rod.
The medium / large flathead screwdriver works ok.
The screwdriver meant for eyeglass repair doesnt fit the screws on my eyeglasses so is mostly useless to me.
I havent tested the philips screwdriver yet.
UPDATE 04-03-2017 8PM
I worked on it some more with the dremel and found that by extendin the "blade" all the way up the door latch release...
I was able to get better results with my next test on a letter.
Unfortunatly because of that needed modification...This tool is no longer TSA compliant...
BUT thats ok by me since I have NO intentions of flyin.
I aint tested the bottle opener or the wrench as of yet.
I dont use earbuds BUT found that I could wrap a small amount of 95 pound paracord in its place on the cord winder.
NOTE...My ZTE Sonata 3 measures 5" X 3".
The letter opener mod I did needs redoin in that it needs sharpenin.
Ill be testin the bottle opener sometime this weekend and will update with those results.
As it stands...Id recomend this tool IF you like monkeys as I do BUT as far as overall usefull / practical tools on it...
Im sorry BUT I aint impressed with this.
Ill be gettin the zootilitys wildcard sometime in the near future and will review that as well.
