Regardless, if you're super serious about podcasting, this won't be the first book or the last one in read. As a suggestion, pay the 0.99 to buy it but don't expect is book to answer your A-Z questions and get you to launch your podcast. Buy it to become familiar with Podcasting, then buying an advanced course later.
For those a bit more serious, check out podcastanswerman.com and also check out Pat Flynns tutorials on his web site. Just do a search on the web, you won't regret it and its free.
It covers the technology you will need as well as the ways you can share your podcasts with others.
With that being said, I did find a few nuggets that I did NOT know before reading this book that were very helpful.
So in summary, if you are interested in podcasting, this is a pretty decent getting started guide. But there are others that are better such as the book by John Lee Dumas. Also check out Dave Jackson and school of podcasting.
This book is a practical guide to podcasting, Mike and Paul solve the main questions on this topic. It is also a sample of multicasting, another Mike's techniques.
Learn from a few of the top guys in Podcasting and Content Distribution.
I recommend this book because it gets right to the point of what you need to get started Podcasting. Further, the book also explains some great reasons as to why someone should podcast.
Look if you want to learn an awesome technique to get your content 'out there', why not learn from some of the experts in Content Distribution who have done this repeatedly. Create, Publish, Profit!
I would recommend this book (which can be read cover-to-cover in an afternoon) as a great first step for anyone considering podcasting for recreation or professionally.
