Violet has left her controlling father and family behind and has made a beautiful life for herself with the love of her life, Max. She has a wonderful group of friends and they and Max's large Italian family become her new family ...all is good. Then on one horrible night all of that changes and she now has to find a way to survive without him. This story finds us a year later and also finds Violet afraid to be happy , afraid to move on with her life.
"That guide to mourning would really come in handy now, I think numbly. Really I am making it up as I go. One day I am drowning in grief, and the next I am making a slow climb to peace. None of it seems right."
Cameron is living every bachelor's dream. He is world's best hockey goalie, he is wealthy and handsome but has a hole in his heart that was left there years ago when he first saw Violet. Who knew years later he would have a chance to win her heart. If only her heart was ready to receive his love.
"I'm not a man to admit fear, but in this instance, I've accepted that Violet has all the power now. The depth of my emotion for Violet scares me the most. There's no end to this kind of all-consuming love. There's no other woman who could captivate me - mind, body and soul."
"Fall with me, Violet. I'll be there waiting, always, with arms ready to catch you. "
This book is story perfection.Read more ›
"Move on? How could you move on from the big love of your life? How could you let go of the best memories of your life? There was no magical device to rid your memory of the only person who truly made you feel worthy of love."
This is the 1st book I've read by this author and I truly enjoyed it. I had no idea there's a previous book before this, but it's safe to say I didn't feel like I had no idea what's going on - I'll definitely be reading Stella and Blake's story.
Told from a dual POV, Point of No Return is a beautiful second chance romance which follows Violet's tragic life after the sudden passing of her husband, Max. When we meet her she's a shell of her former self, with no direction in life and no chance of healing her broken heart. With the help of her best friend Stella and her partner Blake, Violet soon finds herself something to fight for - a new job with the prestigious Chicago Scrapers hockey team. Here she meets Cameron, the team's assistant captain and goalie who becomes one of her best friends and a shoulder to cry on.
Violet is a great romance heroine - even through everything she has endured, she's a strong, capable woman. She has a dark/terrible background - not everything was flowers and rainbows growing up, but she moved passed that and she didn't let it define her. This book is mainly about Viloet finding herself and allowing love back into her life - opening your heart to someone new is the only patch up your broken heart.

Now that some time has passed, she knows that she has to try to venture out and get on with her life – and a job with the Chicago Scrapers is just what she needs.
But what she never expects is a distraction in the form of a tall blonde-haired goalie that makes her feel things that she thought she never would again.
Cameron Stone remembers the first time he ever saw Violet. She took his breath away with her beauty and her unmistakable devotion to the man who was proposing to her on bended knee. Ever since that night, he has wanted a love as real as that for himself.
But when fate brings the woman of his dreams back around, he has to plan his next move carefully. She’s trying to dig herself out from under grief so overwhelming that she may never truly feel whole again. But will she ever let him show her that sometimes love is worth just one more try?
Point of No Return is by far my favourite of Olivia’s books yet! She has crafted a story that is more emotionally raw and more sensual than ever before.
Violet’s struggle to regain her life is both gut wrenching and inspiring while Cameron will steal your heart and have you seriously swooning to the very end. So here’s to second chances and finding true love – in amazing Olivia Luck fashion…
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I really enjoyed this beautiful love story. Point of No Return is told in a dual POV which is my absolute favorite writing style but it mostly focuses on Violet learning how to love again after tragically losing her husband Max a year ago. Violet is struggling with letting go of Max and moving on.
"You can continue loving him like he's your living, breathing husband or you can love him like the man who made a difference in your life."
Violet accepts the job offer her best friend's husband Blake offers her as an event planner for the Hockey Team his family owns. The very first meeting she has she meets the team goalie, Cam, who is going to work with her in planning this event and sparks fly on his end. It’s really a sweet story of Cam falling in love with Violet but giving her the time and the patience that she needs before she is ready to move on.
"You're not ready for me yet. But when you are, I will be here waiting for you. My heart is wide open for you, Violet. It always has been and always will be."
I really enjoyed this story and didn't know that the author already had a book about Violet’s best friend Stella and Blake. So this can be read as a standalone, but I will definitely be reading the other book. There were some minor editing errors but nothing that turned me off from reading this book.
"I've fallen for Violet Harper. Fallen deeply enough to never swim out of her ocean-blue eyes. Fallen deeply enough to drown in her smile. Fallen deeply enough to know that this is love, the kind of love that doesn't die.”
