Just what this needed - a cliffhanger. For me, it should just get pushed right off the cliff. Don't waste your time getting sucked into this mess.
Point of Return is the first book in the Nordic Lords MC series by Stacey Lynn. I am always up for a sexy biker story, and I love all the angst and drama that goes along with hot alphas and strong heroines. But this story wasn't exactly what I had been expecting, and while I didn't hate it I also didn't love it. I am interested to see where Stacey Lynn takes these characters though, and I will read the next book to see more of the Nordic Lords.
Olivia Masters grew up the daughter of the president of the Nordic Lords MC, and had been planning on leaving the life behind with her boyfriend Daemon Knight. He was her first everything and they had plans to leave the MC before everything changed one tragic night. Daemon lost his father, Olivia lost her mother and Olivia ended up getting shot and put in the hospital. When Olivia needed Daemon the most, he wasn't there for her and she realized that she had to leave on her own. Now years later she is forced to return home, and when she asks her friend Faith for help she ends up sending Daemon in her place. Olivia's dad Bull and Daemon want nothing other than for Olivia to return to the club and take her place where she belongs. Olivia is determined to stay away though until her life comes into danger. Now that Olivia is back in the MC life, Daemon will do whatever it takes to convince her to stay this time and quit running for good. But can Olivia accept what life in the MC is like forever, or will it be too much for her when history has a way of repeating itself?
I liked Daemon and Olivia, but I didn't love them. They both had their moments for me, and I wish that we had been able to see more development between them as a couple and individually.Read more ›
First of all I would like to say Oh my Nordic Lords this book is awesome and I am sure the next in the series will be just as awesome. This isn't your typical biker book but it also isn't you typical romance. It is by far the best one that I have read so far and I LOVE it. It has sex, guns, mayhem, murder, gun fights, death, tragedy and all sorts of other things that make for an excellent read.
The prologue of this book sets the tone for what we are in for right from the beginning. It isn't going to be sunshine and daisies. It's going to be blood, bullet wounds and bad a$$ bikers...and some pretty steamy sex. I love that this storyline just grew right from the beginning and just kept getting bigger right to the end. Nothing was rushed and every situation was well written even the ones you wished wouldn't have happened. You could feel the chemistry between Daemon and Liv front the very first time Liv lays eyes on Daemon outside the clinic.
This book has so many things going on but none of it is confusing or too farfetched to make for a believable read. All of the, let me call them side situations, that are introduced in this book have me ready to read the next ones in the series ASAP. Like Jules and Jaden...What will happen with that? Faith and Ryker...How bad a$$ is he? I would even like to see if Finn finds himself a lady whether he gets his own book or he is just added as a "side situation" I will be happy. Heck I am happy now. I was consumed by this book as soon as I started the prologue and I just couldn't wait to see it all play out.
I like that this book has plenty of action. I like that this book doesn't focus solely on the romance aspect of the story.Read more ›
This was absolutely a thrill ride...a sexy dangerous and plot-filled MC romance...as good and sassy as it was well written and thoughtful.
It had the right amount of rough raunchy stuff for a book about outlaw bikers, but it also had an incredible story of family angst and betrayal and getting back home to where what counts is waiting for you.
Olivia and Daemon make up the long lost childhood friends and one time loves...he now the VP of the club her dad runs and when they get involved after some deception and violence from the past comes back to play, it is one exciting thing after another. This book ends in a small cliffhanger and I am so excited to read the next chapter in their story, because although they get a sort of HEA ending...it's not over by a longshot!!
Awesome book and well worth the small price tag. Enjoy!!
***** 5 ***** "a promise to not run away again" stars =)
