Editorial Reviews

Review

Really enjoyed this book. I graduated from high school in 1968. Brought back lots of memories. We were maroon and white. We were panthers. Basketball games, cheerleading and MATH (ugh). Then there was my brother off fighting in Vietnam.

Anyway, this book is very well written. You feel you are right in it with them. Maxine, what a pleasant, smart, funny character.

From the Author

"In Point Spread, I wanted to look at what it was like to be a teenager in the 1960s when we faced the prospect of Vietnam after high school. I also wanted to explore the special challenges faced by girls during that time." Jim Stovall is a retired journalism professor who lives in east Tennessee. He is the author of several popular journalism textbooks and the mystery novel, Kill the Quarterback. He grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, which is the setting for most of his novels.
