As readers, we observe the main character, Dr. Leandra Springfield, as she relays her stories under hypnosis, dissecting the meaning of the relationships in her past lives. As a woman, who on outward appearances, seems to have it all, we are allowed to gently trespass on her personal transformation, seeing the rawness of her vulnerability, as she struggles to release the repercussions of her flaws. Through her hypnotherapy sessions, she begins to see the light and learn the lessons the universe has offered to her.
The writing is exquisite—a book of depth, sophisticated in style, literary in nature. Ms. Begovic displays strong lyrical and poetic writing filled with symbolism and universal truths. The book also holds an element of suspense that keeps the reader wondering about the relationships of the characters until the surprise ending.
A beautiful story, a compelling read.
We are introduced to various characters throughout this book. Whilst the author leads you to believe that Leandra and David are the main characters, they really are not. Leandra and David are psychiatrists working at the same hospital. When Leandra's affair comes to an end, she struggles and goes to David for help. Leandra undergoes hypnotherapy sessions, where she discovers she is in fact connected to her lovers soul and they have met many times before.
All the characters are very likeable, and at times this really pulled at my heartstrings. The book is quite intense with very descriptive scenes, many from Leandra's sessions, her memories and her writing. All make a very good read and keeps you interested all the way. I really don't wish to tell you anymore about the storyline purely because there is no way without going into further detail which will spoil it for readers.
