Way way too hard for kids let alone adults! There's 2-3 steps in each one where you just cannot figure out what in the heck they want you to do, either from the description or the illustration of the step. Do not do when tired after a day at work or you'll get really frustrated! In the end, with plenty of time and patience, it can be fun. I guess. Just don't expect a nice easy time of it for you or your child.

My kid loves it.
Some characters, it is not easy to follow the directions, I have to spend time to help him understand.
Some characters require you to cut into the paper, like Pikachu, if you didn't pay attention, you will end up ruin your origami.
I ended up had to tape the cut off pieces together and went through it my kid.

So the book might be challenge for some younger kids and even adults.
And it is almost a must that it requires parent's participation.

However, it is a good bonding time between me and my kid and I really believe it will be a good boding time for you and your kid as well.

So far we've only done Pikachu, which is the easiest Pokemon in the book (the book arranges the projects in order from easy to hard), and it was hard. The book cover says it's for ages 6+, but my 8.5yo struggled a lot and there were 2-3 spots *I* had serious trouble figuring out what to do. The only way this book is appropriate for a 6yo is if the 6yo has been an origami fanatic for quite a while.

You're going to need scissors, tape, and glue for some/most of the projects.

Instructions are hard to follow, might be easier if they actually had landmarks/labels on the paper for where to do the fold. My kids got stuck on the very first origami and I have not been able to help despite spending about 2 hours trying to figure out where they got stuck.

My 11-year-old son is obsessed with Pokemon and has always loved putting paper things together so this was a perfect gift for him. It's time-consuming and tedious, but the finished product is awesome and he lives feeling accomplished.

Bought this as an activity to do with my four year old. Not happening. Way, waaaay, too complicated for her. I can't imagine any child, or most adults, being able to make any of these.

Tried Pikachu, couldn't make sense of the the instructions halfway through.

Tried Munchlax, finished him but apparently they printed the starting mark on the wrong part of the page, so the end result was completely off even if in the right shape.

Do not buy.

I like this book, but I really have to think about the instructions sometimes, they are not always intuitive. I haven't folded origami in years, though and this was fun. I borrowed the book from the library so I could preview it and see if I really wanted it, and I think I still want it. That being said, I folded all the characters out of regular origami paper and then drew and glue on character features. Which I probably would have done anyway just to practice before using the pre-printed paper in the back of the book

I love that this book is consumable and reusable. The papers to make the Pokémon are included, but the instructions are still usable to make future projects out of paper not included in the book. Many other origami books with specialized papers are fully consumable.
