The V800 measures running cadence from wrist without any additional sensors.
Paying attention to running cadence helps you improve your running efficiency and avoid injuries. A low cadence, for example, could mean that you’re overstriding and putting undue stress on your body.
Running speed and distance indoors
The V800 measures your speed and distance from the movement of your wrist. Use running related sport profiles or walking and let the accelerometer track your distance and speed – indoors and out.
Running index analysis

This thing is big. It took me a little bit to get used to wearing it. Not having worn a watch in years because of always carrying a cellphone, I banged it around a good bit at first. You will get used to it.
Yes, it tracks your time sitting and standing. I run into an issue with this because I stand all day at a standing desk. I'll be standing there working and it will buzz at me, telling me to get up and move. It can't differentiate between standing and sitting if there isn't some standing/sitting movement variation.
Smart notifications are great! Until the 30th one goes off in the last 5 minutes. This has had a very good side effect for me. I turned almost all notifications off. It keeps me from looking at my phone every 5 seconds because I know the important ones come to my wrist. I still wish there was more control on the when and where of notifications.
The warranty is awesome. If you have an issue in warranty, just send it back. They'll fix it and return it.
I HATE the charging cable. The M400 has a standard mini USB connector in the back. I wish they would have done that on the V800. It works and gets the job done, but I'm not buying a bunch of specialty charging cables to have around that just sit there for 95% of the week.
Any concerns aside, you can't go wrong if you want TONS of fitness data. The M400 is a close second for me. It does most of what the V800 does at about half of the price. You will miss out on recovery training and training load if you go with the M400. Just get one if you want to do about any exercise and track it and the effects on your body.
It does everything. I'm still learning how to use it, but thanks to the pdf downloads, especially the full user guide on how to get the most out of the watch and personalize it to YOUR specifications, especially for each and every sport mode setting!
You can go into each sport mode setting and set for automatic recording, auto pause, barometric pressure, altitude sensor climb and descent, cadence speed, average cadence speed, top cadence speed. It also records average HR, top HR, sustained training HR-you have to use a HR monitor or an optical HR sensor thru Polar.
You can set it up for smart notifications which is really handy. Set it up to notify you of schedules/reminders thru Google Calendar, set training reminders also in Polar flow using Google Fit and Google Calendar. There are a few other apps that will sync in settings when you set up Polar flow.
I have an Android phone and set up was really easy. A lot of people complain about loosing sync between their phone and watch. I noticed this issue and read what the problem results from on Polar.com is that when your watch gets too far away physically from your phone it looses "communications" therefore sync is lost. One cannot expect to leave their phone on one side of the house and expect sync communication to remain uninterrupted. That would be awesome in an ideal world, but not invented yet. So don't blame the software/watch for something it's not designed to do.
Maybe someday into the future. But not yet.
This seller is efficient, prompt and ships fast.
I had the Polar M430, and I can in all honesty say the V800 is far superior in features, functions, reliability, battery life, and appearance.
And THIS V800 IS the upgraded current model. It feels more comfortable, less bulky, and not as heavy as the V800 before the 2016 version!
I very highly recommend THIS Polar V800 sports watch for those who want the most reliable dependable customixable feature rich sports watch currently available.
