PolarPro DJI Phantom 3 Filters
PolarPro manufactures the highest grade filters for the DJI Phantom 3 camera. Constructed out of a light-weight aircraft aluminum frame the filters are strong and also the lightest on the market. PolarPro uses HD glass for capturing sharp images and videos every time. PolarPro backs these filters up with a limited lifetime warranty.
Phantom 3 Filters
Phantom 3 Polarizer
The PolarPro Polarizer filter is perfect for reducing glare and increasing color saturation. It will make skies pop and make landscape shots more engaging.
Phantom 3 ND4
The PolarPro ND4 Filter reduces the cameras shutter speed by 2-Stops. This is a great entry level filter for pilots shooting in partly cloudy conditions.
Phantom 3 ND8
The PolarPro ND8 Filter reduces the camera's shutter speed by 3-Stops. This is perfect for the entry level pilot shooting in bright conditions.
Phantom 3 Filters for Every Lighting Condition
The polarizer filter is perfect for shooting scenic images or videos. It will make colors more saturated as well as make the clouds in the sky pop.
Action Sports/ Faster Subjects
The ND4 and ND8 are enough to reduce overexposure, while maintaining a faster shutter speed for fast moving subjects.
Cinematic Look and Feel
The ND4 and ND8 filters are great starting points for giving your Phantom 3 videos a cinematic feel. We have even stronger ND filters available for advanced pilots.
The Polar Pro filter 3-Pack for the DJI Phantom 4 and Phantom 3 Professional, Advanced, and 4K camera is the perfect set for capturing epic aerial videos. Includes the three most popular filters for aerial imaging, a polarizer, 2-stop ND, and 3-stop ND. The filters are designed to be ultra-light for use with the DJI Phantom 4 and Phantom 3 gimbal weighing only 4.64 (polz) and 4.06 grams (ND's). The Stock UV filter which comes on the Phantom 3 must be removed (which weights 3 grams) so you are only adding a net of 1.06 and 1.64 grams with these lightweight filters. The Polar Pro Phantom 4 and Phantom 3 filters are made with a high resolution glass for razor sharp images and videos. Includes limited lifetime warranty.

I received these lenses and they screwed on easily. They must have solved the threading problem. I started first with the ND4 filter. The day was partly cloudy, mostly sunny and very bright. I flew for 8 minutes and never adjusted the exposer or shutter speed. I then switched to the ND8 filter and flew another 7 minutes, same time - same place - same route - same Bat Channel. The end results, the video was just stunning. The detail was amazing and absolutely no flaring. The forest was a little dark with the ND8 but only when a cloud passed over the area I was shooting. I live in Vermont by the way so it’s all forest, no civilization, just trees and outhouses are far as the eye can see. Hey! At least we got outhouses.
As for the weight, the mass, of the filters; they are heavier than the original UV filter that the P3 comes with but it doesn’t appear to be an issue. I calibrated the gimbal with the ND4 filter the night before. I did, however, get a gimbal overload error when I landed the first time with the ND4 filter on. It was a windy day and kind of a hard landing though. I missed the landing pad and the copter dragged through the grass a little and pushed the lens down, so that error could have happened even with the original UV filter. The second flight with the ND8 I was a little more careful on the landing and didn’t have any issues at all.
I will try and capture some images from the video’s to attach here later. In the end, these filters are a must have accessory. They’re inexpensive and you can afford a P3 so, give ‘em a try. You will be amazed at the difference. I never tried the Polarizing lens, sorry.
As for how well the filters work in terms of picture / video quality... they work miracles. I used the CPL filter for several flights over the ocean during mid-day when the sun was very bright, as was the reflections in the water. The CPL balanced the light, cut the reflections, and created brilliant colors just like a great CPL filter on a camera. Meanwhile, the other person I was with (who had filters, but kept forgetting to put them on) ended up with video that was washed out and overall lack-luster in comparison.
One negative I experienced (partially my own fault) was that I was pushing the filters on a but too hard and could see the glass starting to separate from the encasing. I have since been more careful, and it hasn't been an issue. Just be careful when you are putting the filters on, to not apply too much pressure.
I would highly recommend these filters; just be sure you leave room for calibration and be gentle putting them on and taking them off.
