In summary, I just didn't find much in the way of style OR technique. When a technique was described, it was done so briefly. Art is obviously subjective, and having said that, your mileage may vary. If you're a book collector of things that interest you, as I am, then go ahead and add this one to your shelf. It is reasonably priced with lots of content, so from that perspective, I guess it's a fair value, but it's just not my cup of tea. No offense to the author or those reviewers that loved the book. I gave the book 3 stars of effort. Not content.
My favorite part of the book is when the artists shared how to make one of their signature creations in a step by step tutorial. It was fascinating for me to see the styles from all over the world and to get a glimpse into their personal perspective on clay, art and the world around them. I really enjoyed the book and am learning several new techniques from it.
I don't know how long it will take me to read every word in the book, because the inspiration it provides sends one rushing to the clay table to put the inspiration into action. Cynthia has proven with this book what so many people say about "polymer clay people": they're possessed of beautiful spirits and boundless generosity. Enjoy your treasure. Karen Lee Price Luda
I am an experienced polymer artist and was surprised to learn so many new techniques. Eva Haskova's article sent me running to the studio to create something with the wonderful color blends she used for her "Colorful Rays Spiral Pendant." To see the different ways a hanger can be inserted, a surface can be textured and painted and a new spin on making hollow beads excites me and even though I may not want to create a piece the way the artist did I have learned from their creative journey. Thanks so much for bringing this book to life Cynthia.

I particularly liked one passage in an author's bio. She travels well! Like my dog and cats? Not much detail on tunes.Published 2 months ago by Jacquelin R Thompson
I like this book, although it's "thinner" than I hoped it would be. I always prefer "how-to" information, much more than "this is my background and... Read morePublished 14 months ago by Judy Bjorkman
This book is so much better than I expected. The techniques and projects from all over the world offered more ideas than I have found in so many other polymer clay books.Published 16 months ago by Joyce R.
