Horray!!! A product that does exactly what it says it will do. I like to put pomegranate seeds in everything during the holidays, but it has always been a labor of love. Now, with very little effort or mess I can add a few seeds to that glass of prosecco for a cheery look or into a salad on a week night without the deep sigh that always accompanied the chore of removing the seeds. The first time I used this, I was a bit too gentle with my first few spoon taps--you really need to smack the fruit, but it works!! Cut the pomegranate in half (with the puckered ends ending up in the center of each half you cut) and then just put the seed end down on the dome piece and hit firmly with the back of a spoon 6 or 7 times--most of the seeds will fall out into the bowl. Love, love this!!!

We started a couple of pomegranate trees about five years ago. The first couple of years it was pretty easy to seed the pomegranates by hand. But last year it was a chore with over 200 pomegranates! We needed some sort of help deseeding the pomegranates because we juice the seeds to make the very best pomegranate jam. We looked everywhere for something to help with the job and finally found the Pomegranate DeSeeder! It really makes the chore of deseeding the pomegranates almost fun. At least you get to relieve any frustrations while you bang away on the deSeeder shaking out the seeds. My sister in laws grand kids love it, but they eat all of my seeds, haha. It really goes fast and doesn't make a mess like we used to get doing them by hand. All of pomegranate seeds and any juice stay inside the deSeeder. We'll by a second one because the kids fight over who gets to use it next. Besides with close to three hundred pomegranates this season next year will be even bigger. Thank you for such a useful and well made product. I can see it lasting for years to come.

Let me start by saying if you don't plan on preparing a lot of pomegranates don't spend the money on this. I buy pomegranates by the case so I decided to see if it would be something that could save me time. I was really surprised when the arils from the first pomegranate I tried actually came out into the bowl...but only from half the pomegranate. The other half I had to do the old fashioned way. The next one that I tried with the tool released around 15 arils before I gave up using it.

I've been buying an early season variety of pomegranate called Angel Red. This is not the Wonderful variety that most people are accustomed to, so I'm hoping that when I try the tool on a Wonderful pomegranate later this season the arils might release more easily.

This is a great item that really works, and saves a LOT of time vs seeding by hand. The strainer section could be a little tighter (finer mesh), which would allow even less of the smallest pieces of fiber through...but, it beat my manual seed extraction method by 5+ times, and my poor 60% seeds vs hull extraction ratio...to say nothing of no more seed stains on clothing, kitchen walls AND ceiling! Just takes a little longer to receive and enjoy, so have a little patience, but it arrived well before my quoted date. No more buying those small $5 packs of pre-seeded pomegranate for me. Absolutely fantastic for rapidly juicing this healthy fruit!

I work for a company that sells these and I have to say that up front.
That said I bought a case of 6 Pomegranates from Costco and used this on 6 big pomegranates.
I would never normally take the time to peel a pomegranate. This works very well.
I freeze all the seeds.
I actually used a wood axe handle to beat them not a spoon.
Something with some weight makes the job easier.

Fast easy and fun. Does that sound cliched? Of course it does, but cliches exist for a reason. Not only is this product easy to use but it is also pleasing to eye too. Functional and aesthetic, it doesn't get much better than that. I do admit that the best of part acquiring the product was the discovery (based on the product instructions) that the chambers of a pomegranate run vertically from the top to the bottom of a pomegranate. I have been eating pomegranates for years and never noticed. Orientation of the cut through a pomegranate DOES matter. Enjoy those antioxidants!

This tool is so handy. Although it recommends cutting the fruit in half, to prevent loss of juice, I just section the fruit before using the deseeder.

I gotta say I was skeptical about this product, but it does what it says it does. It takes a little more force than I thought it would, but it takes me about 1/4 of the time it used to. It's a bit pricey for what it is, but if you eat as many pomegranites as our household does, it is probably a good investment.
