This story was truly full of twists and turns as you take old myths and legends and give them a little tweak. Or in this case.. you add a little blood. Persephone grows up thinking that she has a fairly normal life running her magic show with her mother. They grow every kind of rare herb and flower but their specialty are Pomegranates which have very magical properties for certain festivals. But Persephone doesn't know that her mother is trying to change myth and legends and change the course of fate for her daughter by tampering with the magical fruit by adding her daughters blood to it. There were so many wierd little plot twists that your constantly wondering whats going on and what really is her mother trying to do. I enjoyed reading this story but it does leave you with a little bit of a cliff hanger at the end which will leave you grabbing for the next book.

Greek and Roman mythology have fascinated us for centuries and these classic tales never get old. What fun it must have been to take a classic tale and weave a little of the 21st century to breathe new life into it. Add in some sexy scenes and this becomes a fun yet short romp about Persephone and her supporting cast. The writing is sharp and polished, the dialogue crisp and intriguing, and the characters have depth and nuance despite how short it is. Even so, I want to be greedy here and ask for more of well, everything! I felt the story was a bit rushed but hey, I'll just go back and read it again and wait with anticipation for Book 2.

I enjoyed this book from start to finish, though it does end on a bit of a cliffhanger, but that's to be expected since it's the first in a series. I loved the twisty plot and the sweet, erotic scenes with Persephone and Hayden. I've never read a f/f story before, but I really liked this one! It isn't usually my cup of tea and this author did a fabulous job holding my interest. I wanted to keep turning pages to find out where the plot would go next.

Persephone and her mother Demi run a store catering to witches and paranormal beings. Demi spends most of her time tending the gardens and orchards. She has developed a new pomegranate species infused with her daughter's blood. She has a great secret she will share with no one. Persephone's girlfriend helps her discover the truth about herself and her mother but Hayden has a secret just as big that will lead the couple into grave danger. How will Persephone deal with all this new information? Will she forgive her mother and Hayden for keeping secrets from her and can Hayden protect her young lover against those who would destroy her?

Like all Ms Bishop's books the lovely details and descriptions make this story more real and easier to fall into the tale, becoming part of it. The plot line between Persephone and Demi is very complex and clouded in mystery. On the other hand even though Hayden has a whole different mystery she is more open, supportive and patient with her the young woman.

I got hooked into this story very quickly and did not put it down. It was really that good. This book IS one of a series so there are cliffhangers to keep you coming back for more. Its so much fun to speculate what will happen next. An excellent story, thank you Ms. Bishop.

Mythology continues to fascinate me, not just as a writer myself but as a reader. However, very few can actually take a classic 'legend' and spin it into something unique, tempestuous and modern without losing the fundamental foundation on which most mythology stands.

Erzabet Bishop must be beloved of the Muses as she continues to surprise and enthrall my picky self when it comes to these tales. She never disappoints and it's always pure win when she tackles the subject matter.

The tale of Persephone and Hades has always been a complicated web of half truths and unspoken desires. It pits contrasting feelings against all those involved and there is no solid white or black about it, their story has always been a huge river of swirling gray mystery.

This take really got my interest and I love how Ms. Bishop infused blatant humanity into her deified cast of characters. These aren't the divinely cold beings you're used to. They run the entire spectrum of emotion and they do it with style.

If you like compelling, smokingly sensual reads and are looking for a crisply fresh spin, I strongly urge you to pick up a copy of this book and dive in.

This is the first book I have read from this author. It’s a sweet story with a twist on an old fairy tale/legend. The writing is smooth, the story flows very well and held my interest. Persephone and Hayden are believable characters in a world that is built around the fae world and those of the ancient Greek / Roman legends with some hot steamy F/F scenes. The story starts out light and carefree and gradually becomes a bit darker when Persephone ventures out to a club seeking answers that no one seems to want to answer regarding her past and her mother. It has a surprising angle and then ends in a cliff-hanger. Waiting on book #2 to see what happens next! I received a copy for an honest review. I hope you enjoy the story as I did! 4 out of 5 stars.
