The authors have also included many of many of the early archaeological reports all of which makes their volume a unique introduction to Pompeii. They the authors are each experts in their respective fields, Alison E. Cooley is the author of the recent Cambridge Manual of Latin Epigraphy.
The introduction and notes are first rate and all the ancient sources and inscriptions are fully translated.
